Currently I teach on the Masters Course and have supervised numerous dissertations to a high level. My expertise is in qualitative methods where I did one of the first phenomenological Doctorates looking at the lives of male substance users, whilst working with them therapeutically.

I currently work with students to do qualitative dissertations ranging from Kings, UCL, LSE, Goldsmiths, Queen Mary's and City Universities. I can work all the way up to Doctorate level and have worked with four counselling psychology students, two criminology, one Sociology and a Psychology student. At Masters level I have worked with law students, nurses, Social Workers and Sociology students.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is drawn from Bruner, Vygotsky and Rogers, based upon scaffolding the student to build their confidence and expertise so they begin to develop their own expertise. Within an exam for example students require a deep knowledge of understanding of what is required and therefore need support to be able to do this. Essay writing requires a different set of skills, such as being able to research a topic and move to building an argument. For many students this requires considerable scaffolding at first.

Personal Description:
An accomplished PhD holder with more than 10 years university teaching experience in earth sciences field, where I have gained diverse teaching experiences. Proactive and creative researcher in geosciences with partic-ular focus on geophysics and tectonics. I am able to work on my own initiative and as part of a team in both research and teaching settings. I possess good organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively, and I have developed and applied these skills in various teaching/supervising activities.

• Duties- teaching gravity and magnetic courses and supervised several BSc projects (25students), includes gravity and magnetic measurements, processing, interpretation and 2D modelling. Interpretation of 2D & 3D seismic data leading to oil prospecting.

2003-2007 Industrial lecturer for the Libyan National Oil Corporation (N.O.C):
• Duties Course title "Gravity and Magnetic in Oil Prospecting" given during summer to newly graduated students before they joining the oil sector. The course summaries the basic theory and application of gravity and aeromagnetic surveys and consists of a series of lectures, with computer-based exercises demonstrations and qualitative interpretation of mapped gravity and magnetic data to reinforce the lecture topics.

Personal Description:
I am a well qualified Medical Doctor, Registered with the General Medical Council UK, for over 40 years and had extensive experience in Clinical Medicine. I practiced Anaesthesiology in the UK for over 20 years(in NHS and Private Medicine) and 20 years in Hongkong and India.
I am a British Citizen. I have retired from clinical medical practice but still registered with the GMC, UK.
I can teach the basic medical sciences viz. Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and to some extent clinical internal medicine and surgery.
My son is studying in a UK University doing undergraduate studies in Bussines Management.

I am 69 years old and in perfect good health and has a clean UK driving license and social background.

Teaching Experience:
During my working in the NHS as Middle Grade, Registrar, Senior Registrar, and Consultant level in the NHS I had Medical Undergraduates and Trainee Anaesthetists for teaching and training them in the Clinical field. This apart from offering training, from time to time, to para medical staff like ambulance crew and anaesthetic nurses.
Teaching includes basic medical sciences to the level of application as per the requirement of the trainees.

Tutoring Approach:
I can teach as one on one basis or to a group not exceeding maximum of 5. I am available any time from 9am to 9pm including week ends.
I am happy to travel within 10 miles from East Ham. Currently I do not own a vehicle but has plans to procure one in the near future.
