Within the first session, I discover the individual needs of my learners, their strengths and weaknesses. Then I devise a plan to address the whole programme of study within the number of weeks available, so no topic is ignored. I work simultaneously on exam requirements, but also on skill development, skills that the student can benefit from, outside the boundaries of a specific exam format. Students find themselves forgetting the time, often engrossed in their work, mentally challenged and stimulated. I set short homework at times, so that students can practise independently on those skills they develop with me, being reassured that they can transfer those skills further. I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. As I teach one to one, my pace is faster than school and we usually finish the topic in one or sometimes two classes. And then we do previous topics and I explain doubts on those topics. I usually do not teach students that they already know, instead, start topic wise past papers of the topics students feel he or she knows well.

My lessons are very much dependent on my initial assessment of the students, but usually involve discussions and activities to identify areas that need developing, explicitly teaching the material that students need help with, checking their understanding, then providing lots of opportunities to practise the content, leading to exam practice by emphasising on examination techniques.

I am a very experienced teacher of Business both GCSE and A Level. I have worked in many schools in South Wales and have been Head of Department and a classroom teacher. I am now based in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Teaching Experience:
I have over 25 years of teaching both GCSE and A level business, mostly with WJEC Examination Board but have taught GCSE Edexcel as well.

Tutoring Approach:
I am happy to tailor my experience to your needs and can teach the whole syllabus, individual topics or go through past papers.
