We would look at verbal and listening practice as well as written exercises.

I have a particular interest in grammar and feel that it is very difficult to have a good grasp of a language without some grammar competency. This is especially important for A Level examinations. However, grammar does not have to be taught in a boring way and I often use games and fun exercises as well as more formal methods. Primary pupils learn mostly through games, puzzles and songs.

I tend to use a variety of methods when teaching, depending on the child and their needs, focusing on their age and what their syllabus requires. I am capable to do quick summarised revision sessions, as well as long term lesson plans. Either way I ensure that the student is always given homework and stays revising. If appropriate I also do small mastery tests at the start of each lesson which consists of a five minute recap test, so the student is required to have revised the previous lesson well. Obviously if they struggle with the homework or mastery test, then the lesson plan's pace is adjusted to meet the child's level. I would check in with them on agreed days/ times via skype to see how they are doing with their studies and revision on the lead up to exams and assessments and help to support them through this. I provide this for students working towards any assessments such as 11+, GCSE's A'Levels and any other level 2 or 3 courses. This is a holistic educational support service for a fixed period.
