As Senior Teacher/ Teacher in Charge, of a Medical Pupil Referral Unit I headed up a dedicated team of skilled teachers who worked with young people on a 1:1 and small group basis. I am well aware of the current concerns with the mental health of young people and aim to support those I work with in a positive and sensitively focused manner. Many of my student's have experienced exam anxiety, dyslexia and learning difficulties which has made school a problematic environment for them. I aim to help with those areas, working on finding pathways, approaches and methods which help individuals succeed.
I currently focus my attentions on tutoring individually. I find the one to one contact simulating and highly rewarding. I was Head of performing arts in a school in Dorset for seventeen years. During that time I worked extensively with children of all ages. In the mean time, I topped up my knowledge studying 2 years foundation degree in Child Development to have more of a professional perspective on early years/Foundation stage.

In 2018, I moved to England to start my MA studies in Special Needs and carried on teaching 1-1 ever since I graduated in 2020.

I worked with several children/teenagers/young adults across Manchester within different settings. I got trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis/ABA and tutored in this area offering behavioural support alongside the academic support I have been offering.

I got regular students in Manchester , offering home schooling, pastoral and behavioural support on a regular basis. I have also offered short term interventions , behavioural/emotional support to students who have different needs during this period.

Again, I have lectured at College and University level on Science and Engineering related subjects while promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity at all times. In addition, I have excellent communication skills and ensure I offer bespoke teaching and learning that is tailored to the student's needs or requirements. Typically, I elicit learning from my students by finding areas of the topic they find difficult, lack confidence and find challenging. Then, I facilitate engagement by starting my lesson from there as I clarify concepts, misconceptions or difficulties. I signpost and support the students by exploring and exposing them to the basic fundamentals of the subject. Then build their confidence in tackling related questions. Thus, empowering the students to gain a deeper insight in understanding the easy approach to learning as well as becoming competent, confident and successful in the subject of study.

I am 30 years old who moved to Rugby from Coventry just before the pandemic.

I have been teaching maths in a secondary school for 7 years and I am the KS3 curriculum designer.
I have been tutoring on and off for even longer with a previous pupil successfully completing a medical course.

Teaching Experience:
An experienced and skilled teacher of 20 years, I have worked with a wide range of age groups and am a skilled teacher across the curriculum - primary trained but also with significant experience beyond primary as a Maths specialist teacher. I have worked with both children who need support and those who are working significantly above expectations. I have had much success in developing skills, knowledge, understanding and confidence in my students and helping them to succeed and excel. I have also worked closely with children with SEND and supported children with EAL. In addition to the academics, I am an Art specialist.
