I have an MA in Classical Philology and Russian Studies from the University of St Petersburg and am qualified to teach Russian, French, English and Latin. Since graduating in 1978 I have worked extensively in language teaching and translation / interpreting. I have also worked in France for 3 years and attended an interpreting school in Paris (ISIT - Institut Superieur d' Interpretation et de Traduction). Tutoring Approach:
I do my best to give the student a good grounding in grammar which is a key to understanding and fluency whatever the language. I am Alexandra, a native and qualified Greek and Russian teacher and interpreter. I hold an MA in Russian from the University of Glasgow with distinction in Spoken Russian and a BA in Ancient & Modern Greek from Democritus University of Greece. Additionally, I have a Certificate in Public Service Interpreting from Glasgow Clyde College. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I specialise in helping students of all levels excel in both Greek and Russian.

Teaching Experience:
For the past decade, I have had the pleasure of combining my work as a professional interpreter with my passion for teaching Greek and Russian as foreign languages. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling. I've taught students of all ages and backgrounds, from young learners to adults, and have successfully helped many pass important language certifications such as the GCSE, TORFL, and the Certification of Attainment in Greek.

What excites me the most is seeing my students' confidence grow as they develop the ability to communicate in a new language. Each lesson is a step towards unlocking a new world of opportunities - whether it's for travel, work, or academic success. My students don't just learn a language; they learn to think in that language and immerse themselves in its culture. I offer tailored lesson plans that balance grammar, conversation, and real-world application, making sure that every student progresses at their own pace while staying motivated.
