I am the author of four scientific publications in the field of linguistic relations in Russian, English and Tatar.

While living in the UK I have worked as a freelance tutor and translator for Scottish&Newcastle, Scottish Parliament, NHS and Rudolf Steiner School. I am really proud of the fact that among my students are people of different ages, knowledge of Russian and purposes of learning it and who are professionals in different fields for example in language and science teaching, sales and marketing, medical research, social work, to name just a few.

Always try to make students interested in the subject I teach. Create a ftiendly and an encouraging learning environment. Not afraid to praise them even if they do not get immediate good results. Tend to get feedback from them. Plan carefully each lesson. Use the Internet and PC in preparing for lessons. Each course that you will attend is tailored to your needs and depends on your level of knowing Russian and your purpose of learning. I teach Russian through the Skype system as well. Each month organise Russian Converstaion Club for my students to help them learn some more about Russia apart from lessons. We discuss various topics in Russian (the topic of each session is given in advance), do different activities based on the theme of the session. Hi guys, to start off with my academic background: I studied at Winchester College and Cambridge University.

I was generally a straight A* student at Winchester, and in my final exams I received some of the highest Cambridge Pre-U grades in the UK for my subjects of Philosophy & Theology, Russian and French (these were D1, D1, D2 - which translates in A-Level terms to A**, A**, A*). At Cambridge I studied a mix of Theology and Philosophy, with a focus on philosophy (ethics and metaphysics), history and literature papers.

In terms of my personal background: I was born in London and have lived in Islington most of my life. I've travelled a great deal, and in my gap year I spent stretches of time living in and travelling around America, Italy, Malta, Russia, Jordan and Pakistan.

In my free time I like classic cinema (Hitchcock especially) and novels (Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Dickens are my favourites) but I'm curious about everything really, and I read books of any kind whenever I have the time - especially those relating to History (classical and modern), Philosophy, Theology, Politics, and Literary Analysis.

For most of my professional life so far I've worked as a salesman, lawyer and corporate strategist. 1. So first of all we'll have an introductory session to determine what your interests, strengths/weaknesses and ultimate aims are. If you like me then we can have another session!

At the end of this I'll set an assignment for you to work on before our next session. The assignment may be easy, it may be tricky, it may be normal, it may be quite unusual! It will depend on what your aims and interests are and what I can come up with etcetera.

I'll also try to recommend some valuable learning resources and techniques for you to work with as you prepare that assignment.

In our second session we'll go through and discuss the assignment and your answers to it, focusing on different ways of looking at the issue and thinking around it, or effective ways to internalise that knowledge. I have been living, working and studying in the UK for the last 19 years, I possess a vast amount of knowledge and experience, which I am more than happy to pass on to those willing to learn.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching English to Russian speakers and Russian to English speaking Executives for years, mainly in an office environment.

I have also been interpreting for the Social, NHS, Housing, Mental health and various other public services, so I have a very clear understanding of the difficulties that exist due to the language barriers.

I have collated endless glossaries for every sector, which can help anyone achieve the required level of efficiency and confidence.

I am eager to help my students to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. I will work with you to determine the intensity, frequency, content of the lessons and the required level, depending on your circumstances.

Personal Description:
I am from Ukraine and because of the war had to leave my country with my wife, my daughter and my 3 year old grandson.
I am an active person interested in sports, particularly cycling. I love literature. My favourite writer is Haruki Murakami. I am fond of technology and computers.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching English, including Advanced level and English for specific purposes, for 29 years. I have Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency in English certificates as well as CELTA (grade B). A lot of my students successfully passed Cambridge First Certificate in English, Cambridge Advanced English and IELTS. Russian is my native language and I have taught it to people from many different countries.

Tutoring Approach:
In both English and Russian I apply communicative approach to lnguage teaching. Vocabulary and Grammar are presented, clarified if necessary, and then practised in meaningful conversations about real life, interests, ambitions and topics that are rellevant to students
