GCSE's

Jack's mock results were an E in English Language as well as a D in literature and he wanted to do Economics A level which required a B grade in his final GCSE. Jack had two hours of tuition per week from January to May. He enjoyed going (this surprised me as he hated English before the sessions) and had a new found likeness for literacy. He received a B in both language and literature and can now do A level economics. Jack related very well to David- this made learning easier for Jack and he obtained the grades he needed. His teachers at school noticed a marked improvement in his work when he was having tuition.

***11+ Subject: Having successfully tutored my son 11 Plus exams for Tiffin School, I decided to teach other students in preparation for Grammar School/Independent Schools entrance exams and have great success since. I cover 11+ VR, 11+ NVR, 11+ English and 11+ Maths subjects.

***11+ Verbal Reasoning (VR) is problem solving using vocabulary, language and mathematical skills. I coach students how to complete sequence, work out numerical codes, logical reasoning, mathematical reasoning, alphabet reasoning, word codes, patterns, anagram and coded sequences etc. My tuition helps developing students' word power, vocabulary range and reasoning skills.

***11+ Non Verbal Reasoning (NVR) is solving problems by patterns and shapes. A former Teaching Fellow at King's College London, I have degrees from the universities of London, Jerusalem and Cambridge. Author of 'Israel and the Cold War: Diplomacy, Strategy and the Policy of the Periphery at the United Nations' (I.B.Tauris, 2013), I have reviewed for the Royal Institute of International Affairs and have written for several academic journals and newspapers. I was the first recipient of the Mikardo scholarship awarded by the British Foreign Office, and, whilst at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was awarded a Golda Meir Fellowship. Whilst at Cambridge, I won a Donner prize in Atlantic Studies for an essay on the role of the United States in the Falklands War. I provide a Traded Service to support schools in Wirral to meet the needs of pupils with English as an additional language (EAL) and ethnic minority pupils. My role is to facilitate good home/school communication for refugee and asylum- seeking families with aim of ensuring that each pupil achieves their full potential. I support pupils' settling into school and development of English sometimes via translations of instructions and curriculum language. I also provide support for families prior to and during admission of children with EAL to school/setting. Encourage and promote home-school/setting-community links for example: supporting schools in developing initiatives to meet the needs of EAL parents by providing information about ESOL classes and weekend community language classes. On the other hand, I provide information for staff regarding pupil's first language, cultural and religious issues, meanwhile, I support staff with any initial or ongoing pupil assessment and prepare dual language labels and materials for schools/setting.

Successfully participated as an Assistant Moderator (Postal), to moderate the work from approximately 20 centres with candidates taking the examination in 0544/03 Foreign Language Arabic Speaking (c/w) for the June 2018 & 2019 sessions. In addition, I have also worked as an Assistant Examiner to mark the work of approximately 400 candidates taking the examination in 0508/01 First Language Arabic Reading (scoris) for the June 2018&2019 sessions, where the marking was done via RM processor.
