I have spent many years accumulating a wide range of academic qualifications, and my work has often primarily consisted of passing on my knowledge to others in a form they can understand. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people to understand something they thought was beyond them. Alisdair is an exceedingly knowledgeable, friendly and patient tutor who responds promptly and with amazing clarity on even the most complicated of SPSS issues. He has a great understanding of the planning and organisational problems associated with dyspraxia, and was of enormous help to my son during his MSc project, keeping him calm and giving advice where needed. I only wish we had discovered him earlier! My son has achieved a Distinction at Masters level, and without Alisdair's reassuring and friendly discussions I don't think he would have managed to even finish his project. I would recommend Alisdair highly as a tutor.

Lessons cancelled less than 12 hours before the scheduled start time will incur a 50% charge, as will no-shows.

I qualified as a teacher of Humanities and Social Sciences (focusing on History, Religious Studies, and Psychology) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, before moving to the UK.

In my decade in London, I have taught Health and Social Care, Child Development, Psychology, and Religious Studies at GCSE and A-level equivalents (BTEC Levels 2 and 3 included), as well as tutored university students to support them with their writing and work on research methods.

Tutoring Approach:
I like to ask questions of the tutees to get them to think, but also to connect the work with what they may have already experienced. For example, when teaching Health and Social Care concepts, it is important to link this to the world around them, including what they may have seen recently in the news.

I would usually spend a few minutes at the beginning and end of each session just to check in with how the tutee is doing and what they would like to accomplish to make sure it is a productive session for them.

I am a 26 year old living in Feltham, I work full time as a Disability Advisor and Autism Specialist Mentor supporting higher education students to access reasonable adjustments, provide pastoral support and advice. I also co-run workshops and events for the university I work for. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, baking, spending time with my family, going to the gym, long walks and nature trails, swimming and arts and crafts.
