Personal Description:
A highly effective educator; experienced, well organised, motivated, enthusiastic, with good sense of humour.
I establish rapport with my students. In my long career in teaching, I have learned how to make the most complex concepts in science 'digestible'. My motto is: 'Excellence in Education'.
I am a member of Pi Lambda Theta (International Honour Society in Education).
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified Teacher/Lecturer, and have taught for over thirty years in Secondary, and Further/Higher Education in the US, the EU, and the UK. In addition to teaching students, I have trained teachers, as well.
I am very familiar with the AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and the International Baccalaureate specifications.
Tutoring Approach:
While my Bachelor's Degree is in Biomedical Science, my Master's Degree is in Education with emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, which means I have trained in designing and delivering effective lesson plans, as well as a complete curriculum. I design my instruction taking into account the student's learning needs. The 'one size fits all' approach to teaching is responsible for the failure of many students. Every student can learn and can do well in the right learning environment, and if there are no gaps in what is prerequisite knowledge for taking a certain course.
Knowledge builds on pre-existing knowledge. I make certain that my students really understand and appreciate that. I diagnose gaps in content knowledge and fill them, providing a solid foundation for my students to build on.
Study skills and exam technique, which figure prominently in my teaching, combined with a well-rounded, in-depth content knowledge, provide the key to success.
At the end of the course, my students not only do they have what they need to tackle the Biology, Chemistry, or Psychology exam, but also a wealth of learning skills which they can apply to other subjects as well, and which they will find essential in all their future academic studies.
Educational technology supplements my instruction. The content in every session is presented on PowerPoint with quality images. I clarify every point and make certain my student has grasped the present concept before I proceed with the next. Where appropriate, the PPT presentation is followed by a brief video which makes the content come alive. My PowerPoint presentations, as well as my notes on PDF or Word files are available for my students after the lesson.
I finish the lesson practicing exam-style questions, and I provide my students with lots of past exam papers. It goes without saying that regular revision is very important.

Personal Description:
Many students come to me believing they're 'just not good at science' or carrying anxiety from previous negative experiences. I create a completely judgment-free environment where mistakes are valuable learning tools, and we celebrate every win, no matter how small. Building genuine confidence is as important as mastering content.
I specialise in transforming students who've lost confidence into motivated learners who exceed their own expectations, whether that's a comprehensive school student finally 'getting' science after years of struggle, or a high-achieving independent school candidate securing their place at their dream school. As a former Oxbridge graduate, qualified teacher, and examiner for AQA and Edexcel, I understand precisely what's required at every level, but more importantly, I know how to unlock each student's potential by addressing the emotional barriers that hold them back
Whether you're seeking support for a comprehensive school student who's struggling with science fundamentals and needs confidence-building from the ground up, or an ambitious student targeting top grades for entry into Oxbridge or the Russell Group, I tailor my approach completely to each student's starting point and goals.
Teaching Experience:
Enhanced DBS certified
15 years teaching Science and Business Studies in state and independent schools
15 years delivering one-to-one private tuition across all ability levels
12 years as a senior examiner for AQA and Edexcel (current insider knowledge of marking schemes)
Qualified teacher status with continuous professional development
Former Oxbridge graduate with specialist knowledge of entrance processes
Tutoring Approach:
Every student learns differently, and my first priority is understanding exactly what barriers are holding your child back - whether that's gaps in foundational knowledge, exam anxiety, or simply never having had concepts explained in a way that clicks for them.
I begin with a comprehensive assessment to identify strengths and areas for development, then build a completely personalised learning plan with achievable milestones. Students who work with me consistently report that my explanations finally make complex concepts clear, and that their confidence grows alongside their grades.
As a practising teacher and examiner, I attend regular CPD on the latest GCSE specification changes and marking criteria. This means I'm teaching to the current standards, not outdated approaches - crucial for maximising grades under today's rigorous assessment system.

INTERESTS & EXTRACURRICULARS:
• I am passionate about Padel, a racket sport like tennis, most popular in Spanish-speaking countries. According to ITV, it is currently the fastest growing sport in the world. I regularly train with my coach and compete for national rankings in the British circuit.
• I am also a fitness enthusiast whether it is spending time in the gym or swimming. My interest in sports has continued since schooling years, having captained my school teams in Athletics, Swimming and Football competitions.
• Public speaking has been a strong interest which I fulfilled, during my education years, via taking part in Model United Nations conferences. This developed my communication skills which allows me to deliver clear explanations to my students. I represented my school and university in conferences at:
- Oxford University;
- Harvard University;
- Imperial College London;
- Cambridge University;
- Global Young Leaders Conference;
- London School of Economics.
Teaching Experience:
Some of my past clients with their written testimonials are listed below:
• Mr. C - Economics Adult Learner from UK Investment Bank:
'I thought, in all honesty, you were patient, likeable, kind, and encouraging. I thought you covered the material well and concisely and, really, I don't see how what you were offering could have been done any better. It was brilliant.'
• Ms. R - MSc Economic Policy Student from University College London:
'Unlike other tutors, when you explain something it sticks in my head.'
• Ms. R - Business Studies Student from Birkbeck College:
'Haris is very keen and dedicated in his job. He explains the concepts very clearly and succinctly. He was very patient with me as English was not my first language. Haris encouraged me and helped me utilise my abilities to their fullest. He is very efficient when it comes to reaching his aims and always seeks his hardest to achieve the targets. I strongly recommend Haris to all my friends and family members.'
• Mr. A - University Statistics Student from University College London:
'The results came in. I got a first! Thank you very much.'
• Mr. R - A Level Economics Student from Edexcel Board:
'It was a pleasure to be tutored by you. It was extremely helpful. My exam went very well. I felt quite confident with it. I only wish I had called you earlier than I did and maybe started the tuition straight after my January exams. However, the help you gave me in the little time we had was brilliant.'
• Ms. G - University Accounting Student from Regent's University:
'You are my trophy tutor!'
• Mr. B - Executive MBA Student from Imperial College London:
'I would like to thank Haris for his professionalism in giving me tuition. He has been able to, in a short period of time, give me good foundations which enabled me answer the exam questions confidently. He has been very focused in guiding me through Macroeconomics and I have found his tuitions very effective. This has resulted in my top mark in the exam.'
• Mr. E - A Level Business Studies Student from AQA Board:
'We are very impressed with Haris. My son gets on very well with Haris.'
• Ms. W - A Level Economics Student from Cambridge Pre-U Board:
'Haris has been exactly what we needed for our son's revision sessions. He is an excellent teacher and has been helping our son enormously. I would highly recommend him to any student who is not 'up to scratch' with the topic. Haris achieved the 'near impossible' with our son. He made the topic so interesting that our son wants to further progress and take the subject to the next level.'

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Pedro. I was born in Portugal but have lived in England since I was 9. I'm currently studying BSc in Psychology at Bournemouth University and I really enjoy my degree. I am particularly interested in clinical psychology and as a result since April 2022 I've been volunteering at 'Hammersley Homes', a charity which focuses on helping adults with mental illness. A few hours a week I visit someone who finds himself adjusting back into society, he has autism and bipolar. We speak, go on walks, cycle or listen to music together. I have learnt a lot about how difficult certain people find life. This experience has really helped me to be more empathetic, caring and positive.
I also really enjoy surfing, jogging and cooking.
Teaching Experience:
I took up a role as 'PAL' leader at my university where I was given a classroom of 20 first year psychology students. Although the role involved me 'facilitating' instead of 'teaching'. I spoke to my 'students' every week on what content they were struggling with, since I had done the same content the year prior, I compiled and summarised content which I had been taught and created power point slides to give them direction and a better understanding on the content. I also emphasised taking care of mental health and getting involved with the community.
I was nervous at first, worried about speaking too fast or having awkward silences but after a few sessions I found myself loving it. I received really good feedback from students and supervisor who suggested I should be a teacher because I made the sessions really engaging.
Tutoring Approach:
I see tutoring as an amazing opportunity to help motivate students and help them engage in their learning, so that they gain confidence, a better understanding, and better results. I understand every student is different so finding the best way the student engages with the work, is vital so that they enjoy the process of learning and succeeding. I like spreading positivity and joy, since I believe it's the best learning environment.
I know a lot of hard work goes into studying each exam board to make sure I'm giving accurate support and working hard to find questions which fit the skill of student.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified Secondary Psychology Teacher (QTS, 2024) with a strong academic foundation and a genuine passion for helping learners grow in confidence and independence.
Alongside my school-based teaching, I have built a successful online tutoring practice supporting GCSE, A‑Level and undergraduate students in Psychology, Sociology and Criminology.
My background includes SEND-informed practice, particularly supporting learners with autism, ADHD and anxiety, which has shaped my calm, patient and highly structured approach.
I am currently completing an MA in Education, which strengthens my evidence-based teaching methods and keeps my practice aligned with the latest research in learning, cognition and inclusive pedagogy.
Teaching Experience:
My experience spans classroom teaching, one‑to‑one tutoring, small-group intervention, and long-term academic mentoring.
I have delivered full curriculum content, created differentiated resources, and supported students preparing for AQA Psychology exams with model answers, mark‑scheme breakdowns and targeted revision strategies.
As an online tutor, I specialise in helping students who benefit from clear structure, scaffolded explanations and consistent academic routines.
I have extensive experience supporting SEND learners, adapting content to different processing styles, and building essential study skills such as organisation, planning, and exam technique.
My students often work with me long-term because they value the clarity, reliability and personalised support I provide.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring style is structured, supportive and highly personalised.
I begin by identifying the student's current level, strengths and gaps, then build a tailored plan that focuses on both knowledge and exam performance.
I break down complex theories into manageable steps, use real‑world examples to deepen understanding, and model high‑mark answers so students know exactly what examiners look for.
Sessions are interactive and paced to the learner's needs, with a strong emphasis on active recall, spaced practice and exam‑technique coaching.
For SEND learners, I adapt explanations, materials and session structure to ensure accessibility and reduce cognitive load.
Above all, I aim to create a positive, motivating environment where students feel capable, supported and equipped to achieve their goals.
