I am a scientist and engineer who has always been curious about how and why things work - from small scale to astronomical - and I really enjoy being able to draw upon that experience to help students to understand maths and science concepts in ways that they can apply in their own studies and help with exam questions. I qualified with a bachelor's and master's degree in physics from Oxford University and an engineering doctorate (which was largely mathematics-based) from the University of Birmingham.

For most of school, university and career to date, my interest in how things work has guided my life.
