I am an independent tutor with a strong scientific background and have lived in England since Aug 1965. Most of my school and college education took place in Dudley (West Midlands) and I studied Biochemistry, at Leeds University (1975-8). I am married and have lived in Cheshire since Dec 1978. We have a son and a daughter; both graduated from Universities in Manchester. Following my voluntary redundancy from AstraZeneca, (Jun 2008), I am now a self-employed Tutor / Consultant. Teaching Experience:
During my long service in the Pharma industry (~30 years), I have run many short courses and workshops. During 2005/6, I mentored a pupil (Year 10/11) at St. Peter's High School, Longsight, organised by the University of Manchester. In the past, I have also been responsible for organising and running the weekly classes at the Sikh Temple (Gurdwara), for teaching youngsters the Sikh way of life & Punjabi culture, in helping to improve their knowledge and integration into the Western Society over a period of ten years.

After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. • I am passionate about Padel, a racket sport like tennis, most popular in Spanish-speaking countries. According to ITV, it is currently the fastest growing sport in the world. I regularly train with my coach and compete for national rankings in the British circuit.

• I am also a fitness enthusiast whether it is spending time in the gym or swimming. My interest in sports has continued since schooling years, having captained my school teams in Athletics, Swimming and Football competitions.

• Public speaking has been a strong interest which I fulfilled, during my education years, via taking part in Model United Nations conferences. I have 28 years experience in a Wandsworth secondary school teaching science at KS3 and KS4, and physics from KS3 through GCSE to A level. I have taught AQA GCSE Trilogy Science, AQA GCSE Physics, AQA and OCR A Level Physics and Edexcel BTEC Applied Science physics. As Head of Physics I am responsible for how the curriculum is delivered and also for examination results, for which I have a long track record of success. Outside of this role I have tutored students one-to-one at both GCSE and A Level.

I am a BSc Maths Graduate that's absolute 'maths nerd' that loves seeing people understand maths, and spreading information about maths.
I think anyone can learn maths, given the right teaching and going at their own pace, and I think I can provide this style of teaching

Teaching Experience:
I've taught students aged 7 to 18, both online and in person, using a flexible and encouraging approach. Working with such a wide range of learners has helped me adapt to different needs and learning styles, helping students build confidence, understand things more clearly, and see real improvements in their results.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching follows three stages for topics that students are less familiar with:

Guided Example - I begin by working through an example with the student, explaining each step in detail.

Supported Practice - I then provide a similar question broken into smaller parts, prompting the student to ask questions and gradually increasing their independence. This step is repeated until they are confident.

Independent Practice - Finally, I give the student a full question without hints or prompts, to check their understanding and ability to solve it independently.

I can tutor Mathematics up to A-Level (including Further Maths), and I am confident with all the content at this level. Informally, I have tutored peers in the past and found it rewarding to see their progress reflected in improved grades.
