I've been tutoring Maths, Science and English since 2007, for ages 5 to 50. However, I mostly help teenagers with their SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Maths, Science and English are the three main subjects that people tend to want tutoring in. (Actually it's five subjects if you break the Science down into Biology, Chemistry and Physics.)

After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. Over the years I've had so many comments from students/colleagues about my ability to break subjects down to ease understanding, and coupled with my passion for science and sharing that with others I decided to change career and become a full-time science tutor. I've never looked back!

Hello! My name is Gemma and I am a 32 year old doctor, chartered accountant, strategy consultant and successful start up founder. I graduated in medicine from Nottingham University in 2016, switched to finance, became a qualified chartered accountant, and now work for one of the 'Big4' in health advisory and strategic consulting. Engineering is one of the hardest subjects you can study, and it doesn't help when module content is disorganised, learning materials are messy and hard to follow, and when lecturers are too busy to respond to your questions. I have gained most of my practical teaching experience from my time in the NHS, where I worked as an information specialist. Every learner is different, so I like to find an approach that works with each of my students. Having taught people who struggled with subjects at school I try to find easy examples to illustrate particular concepts. I also believe that humour is a key part of the learning environment, and that learning should be enjoyable as well as educational.

While I am happy to meet face to face, I find that online tutoring works equally well and has the advantage of being able to record sessions that can be used by the student when revising. The use of interactive whiteboards still provides a great learning experience, and whiteboards can also be saved for the student to use later.

Personal Description:
I am Samson Shaji. I worked as Technology Analyst(Azure AI Engineer) in INFOSYS for last 3.8 years. Now I am student of MSc iin Computational Mechanics at Swansea University, Swansea, Wales. I love to understand and know about the laws of universe which is written in the language of mathematics as Galileo Galilei says- "The book of nature is written in the language of mathematics". So I try to understand the approach of scientists to learn about the unreasonable effectiveness of Mathematics. I would like to share the understanding of the mathematics to others as I also have the passion to teach others and explain the mystery of mathematics in an understandable manner.

Teaching Experience:
While I was working as Technology Analyst( Azure AI Engineer) in INFOSYS, I used to be a Maths and Physics tutor. Since I have a passion to teach other, I got many students of 11-18 years.

Tutoring Approach:
I use the practical approach of tutoring Maths as every chapter has its physical significance and relevance. So the approach would be to understand the problem of the student and to address it practically and conceptually. Thereby solving the problems or mistakes that the student is keen to make.

Personal Description:
I followed my passion for understanding the world around me into science to become a cosmologist. Talking about scientific concepts and their connections, and passing on the torch, is just the best.

Through my master's degree at Perimeter Institute I have acquired a strong background in theoretical and mathematical physics. In my PhD at UCL I focused on statistical methods for astronomical data analysis of big cosmology surveys. I worked as a post-doctoral research assistant for 2.5 years on projects across weak gravitational lensing and supernova cosmology, with a stronger focus on machine learning methods. I also worked as a data scientist for the private sector for a few months.

Teaching Experience:
In my five years of experience as full-time private tutor for physics and mathematics I have worked with many students on a variety of subjects, including the following:
