I have a BEng (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oxford Brookes University and have A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Physical Education. Tutoring Approach:
I prefer classes to be carried out in small groups, or ideally, one to one.
I try to make the lessons as fun and engaging as possible, as from my experience, that`s the best way to make students want to learn, and remember what they`ve learned.
I use the `5 whys?` approach to prompt student to think by themselves and work towards the answer rather than just relying on the tutor to give them the answers.
If my students show great potential or interest, I am more than willing to introduce more challenging questions and concepts that can be beyond the syllabus (upon request).
I will explain every formula that are introduced briefly so that students first understand how and why they work, which will help them a lot in remembering and when/how to apply them.

Depending on your individual circumstances and what is best for your child I can arrange lessons before exams or during holidays. I was awarded my PGCE in Secondary Science in 1997 with Qualified Teacher Status from Sussex University. Since then I have taught in various schools in Sussex, Essex and Bristol. I have experience with all ages and abilities at key stage 2,3 and 4.

In addition, I spent several years teaching English, History, Drama, Art+Design, Citizenship, ICT as well as Science and Maths to my tutor group as part of a year 7 Team and would be happy to help younger children generally with anything educational.
