Maths is one of the hardest subjects to bluff your way through, and although it's possible to scrape by with a passing acquaintance of the concepts involved, you will never do particularly well without a deeper understanding of the subject. However, this shouldn't be taken as a cause for despair - far from it! With a proper understanding of the subject, a real empathy with the "why" rather than the "how", mathematics not only becomes far more interesting but also easier. I have several years of recent experience of teaching A level Maths, Further Maths and Physics at a school in the south of England. But my commitment to my students goes beyond the "hour slot." I am available to answer questions and provide support via phone, email, and messaging. And I never clock-watch during lessons. I am fortunate to have also acquired a team and network of private tutors and professionals from many diverse fields and careers, all of which are happy to offer tuition and mentoring if necessary.
As the pandemic has changed the way we approach education, I have adapted my teaching methods to ensure continuity of learning for my students. Since COVID-19, I have accrued over 300 hours of online teaching and mentoring experience via Zoom and Microsoft Teams, providing a safe and convenient way for students to learn from the comfort of their own homes.

Hello, I'm Donald - experienced tutor. I was educated at Edinburgh University and worked in the nuclear power industry for over 30 years. In that time I have undertaken teaching activities of various types. After retiring (2010), I started part time private tuition, with good results at all levels.

Teaching Experience:
I have been a private tutor since 2010, with an average of about 10 pupils, weekly, during school term. I am happy to give tuition in-person, or online using Zoom and my own overhead camera system.

Tutoring Approach:
I mainly study past paper questions jointly with my pupils. I try to lead my pupils through the questions in an interesting and challenging way, with my pupils doing much of the work. I make sure that all the key learning points are understood before moving on.

I am a Biomedical Master's student with a First-class BSc. in Biochemistry. I studied Maths (A*), Biology (A*), and Chemistry (A) at A-level. I offer well-rounded Maths and Science tuition geared towards the UK syllabus at competitive rates, and have a passion for life sciences.

Teaching Experience:
I have over 7 years of experience working as a private tutor, and have taught Maths, Biology and Chemistry to students ranging from KS3 to A-level. I also teach Physics to GCSE level. I also have worked as a volunteer mentor in my secondary school, helping children learn how to study and do exam preparation, and have worked as a mentor for Zero Gravity, providing university entrance advice and feedback on personal statements.
