For older students, however, I do not want to undermine the importance of being properly prepared for public examinations. I think that learning a subject by rigorous memorization is mind numbingly dull and is the best way to kill a passion.

A level exam boards have a tendency to ask very similar questions and even repeat exam questions from year to year. We will therefore spend lots of time looking at exam questions and the way in which they're marked to maximise the marks you can pick up.
