This is twice the Welsh average which puts us at the top of tree. 67% A*,A or B in 2012 in my class.Three of my students have won the Institute of Physics prize for the highest A Level marks in Wales with several gaining 600/600. I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. As I teach one to one, my pace is faster than school and we usually finish the topic in one or sometimes two classes. And then we do previous topics and I explain doubts on those topics. I have a surface pro with a pen for online lessons. In economics and maths, I use an online whiteboard which students have permanent access to, to write notes and solutions to exam questions. Tutoring Approach:
I usually tend to approach lessons by going through the background of the topic in focus and a few worked examples before giving students questions to answer themselves and going through worked solutions. Independent practice is a key part of becoming stronger in a subject, and the more a student practices, the better they will get, and this is a truly rewarding feeling. Throughout lessons, I work with a highly friendly, approachable and patient approach to tutoring, as it is vital to ensure that my students feel comfortable to ask questions on whatever topic they may have difficulties with.
Furthermore, I aim to be as concise in my explanations as possible and I like to break down problems into manageable chunks. When it comes to exam technique I teach students precisely how to answer certain styles of question to score full marks and show as much working wherever possible.
