Personal Description:
I'm amazing!!!
And I help other people be amazing too!!!
My aim is to increase everyone's understanding of everything!!!

I've been tutoring Maths, Science and English since 2007, for ages 5 to 50. However, I mostly help teenagers with their SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Maths, Science and English are the three main subjects that people tend to want tutoring in. (Actually it's five subjects if you break the Science down into Biology, Chemistry and Physics.)

Anyway, as I tutor all of these subjects, my students find it very useful that I can potentially cover a different subject each week, or I can do two hours a week and cover a different subject in each hour.

This obviously makes it much easier for the parents too, because they don't have to find a separate tutor for each subject, or leave their child without the valuable one-to-one support in any of the core subjects.

I've also helped my students with pretty much every major school subject; from History and Religious Studies, to French and Spanish, and even Psychology and Health and Social Care. In fact, experience has shown me that I can help anyone to better understand anything - even something that I didn't even know myself a minute earlier!

Teaching Experience:

Educational Employment

Private Home Tutor
The Right Line
2007 - present
Tutoring GCSE and AS Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Tutoring GCSE English Language and English Literature.
Tutoring Numeracy and Literacy (including Phonics) for ages 7 and up.

Life Improvement Course Director
COSRECI
2001 - 2012
(A community education and counselling organisation.)
Assisting students on courseroom-based life improvement courses.
Marking and returning lessons for home-study life improvement courses

Tutoring Approach:

Initially:
I find out the student's strengths and weaknesses.
I find out what they want to achieve from the tutoring.
Together we draw up a plan of action to achieve this.

While tutoring:
I ensure the student understands every word of the subject as it comes up.
I aim for a full, conceptual understanding of each point to the best of their ability.
I keep motivation high with reward stickers! (IT WORKS!!!)

Personal Description:
I possess a doctorate degree in stellar astrophysics from University College London.

I have always possessed a tremendous thirst for knowledge, and am passionate in my pursuit of it.

I believe there are always new fields of study to explore and ideas to engage one's imagination - I suppose one could say that I simply love learning.

Teaching Experience:

For several years I have provided private tuition in both mathematics and physics for both GCSE and A level students.

I have also assisted in mathematics and physics problem classes for 1st year undergraduates at University College London.

On top of this I have assisted in astronomy classes for further education diploma students at the University of London Observatory.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it is of the utmost importance that the student tries to understand the mathematical ideas and/or physical concepts behind the topics they are studying - to picture the problem or situation in one's imagination often helps one appreciate what one is trying to accomplish, and gives one a much better understanding of what is involved in solving problems and achieving success.

This approach of getting inside a subject has stood me in good stead throughout my academic career, and still forms the cornerstone of my continued quest for facts to fire my imagination.

Personal Description:
I am an aerospace engineer by qualification with a Bachelor's and Masters degree from the University of Leeds in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. I joined the automotive industry in 2015 and have since worked in engineering. Being an engineer and coming from a family of engineers, Maths is naturally my favourite subject and my strength. I have completed my GCSE with 8As (including Maths & Additional Maths) and I scored 596 out of 600 in GCE Edxcel Pure Mathematics (A) and Further Pure Mathematics (A) in 2010. I have a long history of tutoring Maths, Physics and English since 2008.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring GCE & GCSE level Maths and Physics since 2008. I offer both one-to-one tuition and studying in a groups, both online and in-person. Generally, I recommend 1.5 hour or 2 hours per week per student, covering one topic per session and complementing the session work with homework for practice. I often use AQA, Edexcel and CIE past papers for revision and exam preparation. I also prepare my own mock papers and exam style questions depending on students' abilities. Lesson structures of course vary to cater to each student's needs.

Tutoring Approach:

All subjects are taught through explanation, reasoning, examples and home practices. Science is taught through understanding of the theory and practising problem solving while Mathematics is taught by showing the simple steps and with easy tips & tricks to remember the method or to remember common values such as sin 30=0.5. Primary English as a foreign language is taught through reading to expand vocabulary, writing to improve spelling and grammar as well as conversing to bring proficiency and comfort. After every session, the topic related exercises and homework are given for better understanding and to build student's confidence to solve any problem relating the topic.

Teaching Experience:

I've been trusted to mentor younger students who are struggling in particular sbjects, and enjoyed helping them to achieve thorough understanding of the weak areas. I work hard, smart and systematically to help more students to enjoy Maths/Science and gain better grades. I have tutored KS3, GCSE and A-level maths, chemistry and physics for a few years and really enjoyed teaching and finding methods that work for the students.
Up to now, all my students are very happy with my tuitions, patient, right-to-the-point and inspiring.

#Delightfully provided private tutoring services to tutees at different levels

&Always identified the needs of learners and if necessary adapted course content and delivery specially-tailored style for the `common` targets

&Provided assistance to students with weak study areas until full understanding (Using their homework, other class assignments, online resources, revision notes and past papers)

&Inspired students to really enjoy the subjects and learn how to learn with joy and efficiency

&Successfully made three groups (KS3, GCSE and A-level) of grade C/B students achieving grade A/A* in Maths and science

&Tought my Chinese (Mandarin) students not only one of the oldest living and most challenging language, but also the ancient oriental culture background and philosophy fundamentals in depths: 大道至简至易( Laotze said that the way to achieve THE great DAO is usually the simplest and easiest way. It may be so simple that you want to laugh about it. "Too easy to believe")

Tutoring Approach:

I take a relaxed approach to teaching and inspire tutees to understand and enjoy what they're learning. Always tailoring the teaching method & materials to their individual needs, my approach is friendly, patient and structured with plenty of materials in application.
I pay very close attention to what the learners are going through, and give them the time and step-by-step guides they need to fullly understand the subject.

Personal Description:
My teaching style could change my student's needs. I would like to start from the simplest form and based on active learning, assessment, and metacognition. In my lessons, you could find more Socratic and metacognition methods because memorizing is not learning.

Teaching Experience:

11 years of teaching experience. Last 4-5 years, I have taught As and A level physics. Additionally, I have taught science and math before.

Tutoring Approach:

Firstly, I need to know my student and his/ her weak and strong sides in learning. After that, I would like to find the best suitable method that corresponds to my student learning style. Finally, I am ready to teach and my student is convenient to learn anything from me.

Personal Description:
I'm 4th year MSci Physics student at UCL. I'm great with people and as a student I know the difficult parts of the courses and can explain concepts in the simplest ways. I'm certain I can help your son/daughter achieve the grade they want at GCSE and A-Level in sciences and maths.
It's not only academic help that I can offer, I can:
- share my study tips and habits that become essential as your child moves on to higher learning
- share my up to date knowledge of what you need to do to ensure a bright future for them and secure their dream job

I have 9A*s (including all sciences and maths) and 4As at GCSE.
At A-Level I achieved 3As (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) and 1B (Further Maths)
Currently pursuing an MSci in Physics

Teaching Experience:

I have a few months of tutoring experience working with secondary school children during my A-Levels, I was selected as a physics mentor at the Liverpool Blue Coat school. I have university level teaching experience gained through tutoring my brother who is also a university physics student. I can guarantee that I will be able to deliver high quality lessons to your son/daughter if I am their tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

Often students don't understand a topic simply because the teacher hasn't put it into language the student understands. I do my best to convey ideas in clear and simple language to cut to the essence of the topic. As a current student the struggles and pitfalls of learning are very fresh so I can help someone else avoid the same issues.
I believe in STEM subjects the most important and useful way to improve is to practise a lot of questions and this will be my main method of tuition. Your child and I will discuss concepts and then apply them to concrete problems during the sessions. I will then provide some homework questions that they should attempt in their own time and will always provide complete worked solutions to all homework set by me.

Tutoring Approach:

Student-Centered and Flexible Learning:

I am a firm believer in the inherent talent and potential within every student, which, with the right guidance and approach, can be fully realized. My tutoring philosophy is centered on creating a flexible and adaptive learning environment where each student's unique needs and learning styles are not only recognized but embraced.
I dedicate specific time to each student, ensuring that their individual learning objectives are met. Whether it's last-minute preparation for exams or ongoing support throughout the academic year, I offer full flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the student's needs. My goal is to be available when they need me most, providing targeted assistance that helps them reach their milestones effectively.

Outcome-Based Learning with Peer-Like Support:

My teaching approach is grounded in outcome-based learning, where the focus is not only on mastering the subject matter but also on achieving specific academic goals. I work closely with students to set clear objectives and create a structured plan that guides them toward success.
I believe that learning should be a collaborative journey, where the tutor and student work together as peers. By fostering a peer-learning environment, I encourage students to engage actively in the learning process, asking questions freely without hesitation. This method ensures that students feel comfortable and supported, making it easier for them to grasp complex concepts and develop the confidence to apply their knowledge.

Comprehensive Guidance and Autonomous Learning:

I aim to equip students not just with knowledge, but with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to tackle academic challenges independently. By guiding them through the learning process, I help them develop the ability to explore and discover solutions on their own, which is essential for long-term academic success.
My approach is designed to instill a deep understanding of the subject matter, ensuring that students are not just prepared for their exams, but also confident in their ability to excel in their future studies and professional endeavors.

Strategic Preparation for Exams and Assessments:

I understand the pressures that students face, especially as exams approach. Therefore, I provide strategic, last-minute preparation sessions tailored to help students maximize their performance. This includes focused review sessions, practice exams, and targeted feedback on areas that need improvement.
My methodical approach to exam preparation is designed to build the student's confidence and reduce anxiety, enabling them to enter the exam room fully prepared and assured of their abilities.

Commitment to Student Success:

My ultimate goal is to help each student reach their full potential. I am committed to their success and go the extra mile to ensure they are well-prepared, confident, and ready to excel. The learning environment I create is one where students feel empowered to take control of their education, supported by a tutor who is as invested in their success as they are.

Personal Description:
I am a private tutor based in Orpington, London. I tutor Maths and Sciences up to GCSE and tutor Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-Level/IB. I can tutor online or in person.

Having finished my PhD at the University of Cambridge, I am now a qualified European Patent Attorney in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. I am also a Founder and CEO at a number of start-up companies.

My academic qualifications include:

PGCert Intellectual Property Law, Queen Mary University of London (2020)
PhD Biotechnology, University of Cambridge (2017)
MSc Biochemical Engineering, University College London (2012)
BSc Medical Biochemistry, King's College London (2011)
International Baccalaureate (36), Bexley Grammar School (2008)
Maths (HL): 6
Biology (HL): 6
Chemistry (HL): 6
GCSE (12 A* + A), Bexley Grammar School (2006)

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored students from a number of schools in the South East, such as St. Olave's, Newstead, Townley, Beths, Bexley Grammar, Bullers Wood, Eltham College and Sevenoaks, as well as many more across the UK.

I also tutor many Chinese students attending various boarding schools across the UK.

I have experience with all major UK exam boards and can provide my students with relevant study materials.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student is different and my teaching style is adapted to their individual needs once we have identified their weaknesses.

I believe understanding is the best approach to learning and teaching. There's no point in just memorising things if you don't understand where they came from. I explain things in such a way that it is easy to understand, and I am very patient.

However, I cannot perform miracles. Students aiming for top grades would be expected to do some homework in between sessions.

I also offer a lot of flexibility. If the student has learnt something in school they didn't quite understand, I can go over the topic again with them during our lesson. If the student understood everything in school, I can teach them new topics to prepare them for when they learn that topic in school. Lastly, near exam times, I can offer intense exam revision and exam paper practice.

You will not be disappointed!
