Personal Description:
Dear Parent / Guardian,
If you value a teacher's qualifications and experience,
If you appreciate the many years of hard work the teacher has done to get them,
If you're happy to pay a reasonable fee for that experience,
If you want a friendly, patient tutor with a traditional approach to teaching,
Then you could be my ideal parent !
And I'd love to hear from you

My name is Michael,
I'm a specialist teacher and tutor in Physics and Maths online.
I am a fully qualified (+ enhanced DBS certificate), professional teacher and tutor of Maths and Physics - with 25 + years experience of teaching to to Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, AS / A2 - Level, as well as considerable experience as an examiner.
For 15 years I have offered tuition from my home in Twickenham, Richmond and online.
Online works very well for most students.

Teaching Experience:

With 25 + years of classroom teaching and tutoring across the full ability range from 8 years old to Adult,

Over the last 9 years I have developed my resources so that I can offer the same top quality tuition ONLINE to students anywhere in the UK and abroad as I can to face - to - face students.

Tutoring Approach:

Online, by discussion with the student and parent I establish the learning needs of the student.
I work with the student to devise teaching and learning strategies to suit the student.

We use Zoom for conversation. I share my qualifications, my certificates, my CRB / DBS, my references, and discuss the student's educational needs, just as I would do if face-to-face.

Together - the student and I - we compose our lesson notes which I write out and - at the end of the lesson - I scan the notes and send them to the student.
We can also use and share an interactive online whiteboard, just like a sheet of paper between us, and of course screen - sharing technology to bring our tuition notes to the home of the student.

We try to make the online learning experience and working relationship as similar as possible to the face - to - face experience.

I offer a top quality tuition package - friendly, patient and reliable - to meet the needs of the individual student who wants to improve her / his grades and is prepared to work hard.

Whether the student needs help with homework, coursework guidance, specific topics, revision strategies, or exam technique and practice at past exam papers, etc. . . help is available, and the student and parents WILL see improvement.

The fee covers not only the hour of tuition time, but also:-

pre-lesson preparation time;
providing personalised lesson notes at the end of each lesson;
setting homework or past exam paper;
marking homework or past exam paper;
providing online support between lessons;
providing feedback to students and parents.

So, when you consider the full package, you will see that each lesson means you get at least 2 hours of a specialist teacher's time and the benefit of his years of work and experience as a teacher. I believe that the tuition "hourly" fee is actually very good value for money and compares well with fees charged by similarly qualified and experienced tutors. I hope you will agree and I look forward to hearing from you..

I am available for tuition during the day as well as after school.

I am based in Whitton, Twickenham.
I offer tuition online.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile

If you would like further details or to discuss your individual learning needs or to arrange an online Zoom consultation meeting please contact me.

Michael.

Personal Description:
Hello,

My name is Lauren. I am a physics/science teacher, currently working in a secondary school in East Dunbartonshire, where I teach a range of classes from S1-S6.

I have over ten years experience as a teacher. I previously held the position of Principal Teacher of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) in two schools, across seven years.

I studied at Strathclyde University for my undergraduate degree, and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) later, as a postgraduate on their learning and teachers masters programme.

I have tutored Primary students and Secondary students physics, science, mathematics and dance since the age seventeen. I have received positive feedback from all of the students I have tutored and they have attained highly in the subject I have tutored them in. I am devoted to helping people learn and enjoy doing so!

Teaching Experience:

Since qualifying as a teacher in 2014, I have gained extensive experience of delivering qualification classes: National 3 Physics, National 4 Science, National 4 Physics, National 5 Applied Science, National 5 Physics and Higher Physics. I have some experience of Advanced Higher Physics, Advanced Higher Mathematics of Mechanics and National 4/5 Dance qualifications.

I have taught in a range of settings, from working within a small science faculty in rural Dumfries to a high-attaining, large and dynamic physics department in Bishopbriggs.

I have in-depth knowledge of Scottish qualifications for physics and a plethora or varied resources/materials for delivering these courses.

I have tutored out with school and in school at supported study sessions where my colleagues and I offer targeted help and support for National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher.

I have marked for SQA for several years, for both National 5 and Higher level. I am fully aware of the standard for these examinations and confident in my delivery and marking of these formal levels.

More recently, I have taken on consultancy and advisory roles for physics and STEAM, working with companies including Goethe-Institut, TIE Scotland, Unboxed and BBC Bitesize.

Tutoring Approach:

Whatever approach suits the student!

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic I developed new techniques and methods for delivering lessons online. I ensure online sessions are engaging and interactive.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced and enthusiastic tutor with a passion for learning. I have over 8 years experience as a maths and science tutor. I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and subsequently completed an MSc in the History and Philosophy of Science at the London School of Economics. I am fascinated by the natural world and by scientific enquiry. When I'm not teaching or learning I enjoy foreign cinema, playing squash and strumming the guitar.

Teaching Experience:

After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked as a full-time teacher at d'Overbroeck's Sixth Form College, Oxford. During this four-year period, I taught A-level Philosophy, Sociology and Religious Studies (all AQA examining board). More recently, I have worked as a teaching assistant at Canterbury High School, focussing on struggling students and helping them achieve their potential. Concurrently, I have also worked as a private tutor teaching GCSE and A-level Maths, GCSE Chemistry and Physics as well as providing 11+ Maths preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

Once I understand exactly what a tutee hopes to achieve (e.g. A* Maths GCSE, or simply understanding algebra) I have three main priorities as a tutor:

i) to identify a students strengths and weaknesses through short tests

ii) to provide a course of study and assessment that will focus on the weaknesses and monitor progress

iii) to give the student belief in themselves and their abilities and to instill a love of learning!

Personal Description:
Growing up in London, I understand firsthand the challenges young people face and the many distractions that can impact their academic progress. Having spent years tutoring students from diverse backgrounds across the UK, I've come to appreciate the value of personalised lessons tailored to each student's unique strengths and weaknesses. This approach ensures that every individual gets the support they need to overcome obstacles and succeed.

Teaching Experience:

Experienced Tutor with a Dual Background in Dentistry and Chemical Engineering

With over 10 years of tutoring experience, I specialise in helping students excel through personalised, engaging lessons tailored to their individual needs. My academic background includes degrees in both Dentistry and Chemical Engineering, giving me a unique ability to explain complex scientific concepts in clear, relatable ways.

I have extensive experience working 1-on-1 with students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), where I focus on creating an inclusive, supportive environment. My lessons are fun, interactive, and designed to keep students motivated, fostering a love for learning and a drive to achieve more. Whether you're looking to improve grades or deepen your understanding, I'm dedicated to helping you reach your goals.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching methods include a variety of approaches, from videos, challenges and interactive sessions.
My pupils have fun whilst they learn and get the grades they need!

I am aware each student is an individual, with varying levels of ability and so the lesson would be determined using this. Analysis of each lesson and how the student responds to different techniques of teaching will be made, to tailor for the ideal teaching session. This will ensure content will be covered in a time efficient manner, while keeping the student engaged and motivated.

*** Testimonial ***

Rob tutored my son Tom for 6 months in GCSE Mathematics and Science.

Rob is clearly very committed to his work and pupils, and it was more than apparent that he had taken great care in preparing for each session.

What really shone through was Rob's passion for his work and his desire to ensure that Tom achieved to the best of his ability. He always took considerable time to ensure Tom thoroughly understood each subject even if this meant running over the allotted time.

Rob is extremely professional and reliable and is very easy to get along with. In addition to his academic role, Rob also took time to build a professional friendship with Tom and a keen interest in ensuring that Tom developed his confidence. This greatly benefited his academic achievement but importantly also his belief in himself and his abilities. Tom's progress from this was clear for us to see. This was the real value added that I believe we received from the one to one tuition that Rob provided.

As Tom completed his GCSE exams Rob would always phone the same day to see how he had got on. This was clearly something he did with all his pupils as, although ensuring discretion, Rob would mention how others that he tutored had said the exam had gone.

I would highly recommend Rob as personal tutor and would happily be contacted to confirm this view.

Teaching Experience:

I've been trusted to mentor younger students who are struggling in particular sbjects, and enjoyed helping them to achieve thorough understanding of the weak areas. I work hard, smart and systematically to help more students to enjoy Maths/Science and gain better grades. I have tutored KS3, GCSE and A-level maths, chemistry and physics for a few years and really enjoyed teaching and finding methods that work for the students.
Up to now, all my students are very happy with my tuitions, patient, right-to-the-point and inspiring.

#Delightfully provided private tutoring services to tutees at different levels

&Always identified the needs of learners and if necessary adapted course content and delivery specially-tailored style for the `common` targets

&Provided assistance to students with weak study areas until full understanding (Using their homework, other class assignments, online resources, revision notes and past papers)

&Inspired students to really enjoy the subjects and learn how to learn with joy and efficiency

&Successfully made three groups (KS3, GCSE and A-level) of grade C/B students achieving grade A/A* in Maths and science

&Tought my Chinese (Mandarin) students not only one of the oldest living and most challenging language, but also the ancient oriental culture background and philosophy fundamentals in depths: 大道至简至易( Laotze said that the way to achieve THE great DAO is usually the simplest and easiest way. It may be so simple that you want to laugh about it. "Too easy to believe")

Tutoring Approach:

I take a relaxed approach to teaching and inspire tutees to understand and enjoy what they're learning. Always tailoring the teaching method & materials to their individual needs, my approach is friendly, patient and structured with plenty of materials in application.
I pay very close attention to what the learners are going through, and give them the time and step-by-step guides they need to fullly understand the subject.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced science teacher available to tutor during evenings/weekends.

Teaching Experience:

I am in my eighth year of teaching Science up to GCSE level and I have a strong subject knowledge across all areas of Biology, Chemistry & Physics. I am very familiar with the new science specification (currently teaching AQA Trilogy) and the levels of knowledge required for KS3 and KS4.

Tutoring Approach:

My sessions can be adapted to specific needs and are planned to focus on areas of weakness identified. With KS3 (Years 7-8) I focus on working scientifically and key ideas in science, while I structure KS4 (Years 9-11) sessions around knowledge retrieval practice, linking scientific ideas and exam technique.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher and experienced tutor of 16 years, previously curriculum leader of science and head of STEM, with a proven track record of securing high levels of attainment for all my students with great testimonials from previous students. I have been teaching Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Engineering since 2004 and also an examiner with AQA,OCR and Edexcel.

Teaching Experience:

I am a UK trained teacher and have been teaching physics, chemistry, maths and engineering up to A level, since 2004 in various schools in London.

Tutoring Approach:

As a qualified Scientist, my approach is to make the subjects enjoyable and convey complex concepts in a simple way. No one approach will work best for every student, and understanding how each student learns and changing my strategy to suit them is how I work.

My lessons are clear, easily digestible, based on the student's needs, developing prior knowledge, building confidence and problem solving skills whilst developing exam technique with access to practice questions.
If you find these subjects challenging or overwhelming, i'd like to hear from you because Science and Maths is only as hard as the teacher makes it.

Personal Description:
I'm currently studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester. Have a huge passion for Mathematics and Physics. In my GCSEs I achieved 4A*'s in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as well as an A in A-level Mathematics.

Teaching Experience:

Did a huge amount of voluntary work helping teach secondary school students during my A-level years and I am currently tutoring students Maths and Physics.

Tutoring Approach:

I use a more fundamental approach wherein a student can come to me with any questions or topics that they found hard during class. Lessons are then tailored to each student depending on what needs work.

Personal Description:
I'm 4th year MSci Physics student at UCL. I'm great with people and as a student I know the difficult parts of the courses and can explain concepts in the simplest ways. I'm certain I can help your son/daughter achieve the grade they want at GCSE and A-Level in sciences and maths.
It's not only academic help that I can offer, I can:
- share my study tips and habits that become essential as your child moves on to higher learning
- share my up to date knowledge of what you need to do to ensure a bright future for them and secure their dream job

I have 9A*s (including all sciences and maths) and 4As at GCSE.
At A-Level I achieved 3As (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) and 1B (Further Maths)
Currently pursuing an MSci in Physics

Teaching Experience:

I have a few months of tutoring experience working with secondary school children during my A-Levels, I was selected as a physics mentor at the Liverpool Blue Coat school. I have university level teaching experience gained through tutoring my brother who is also a university physics student. I can guarantee that I will be able to deliver high quality lessons to your son/daughter if I am their tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

Often students don't understand a topic simply because the teacher hasn't put it into language the student understands. I do my best to convey ideas in clear and simple language to cut to the essence of the topic. As a current student the struggles and pitfalls of learning are very fresh so I can help someone else avoid the same issues.
I believe in STEM subjects the most important and useful way to improve is to practise a lot of questions and this will be my main method of tuition. Your child and I will discuss concepts and then apply them to concrete problems during the sessions. I will then provide some homework questions that they should attempt in their own time and will always provide complete worked solutions to all homework set by me.

Personal Description:
Hi there!
My name is Beth, I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. I managed to receive 8 grade 9s during my GCSEs and 1 grade 8, as well as 3 As in my A levels (Maths, Physics and Graphic Communications). In the future I'm hoping to work in robotics/prosthetics, and I have such a genuine interest in both maths and physics (especially space and quantum!). I also love cooking and playing basketball.

Teaching Experience:

In terms of teaching children, I've just returned from my second year working at a youth summer camp in Canada. Here I was required to teach the kids wilderness survival skills, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, arts and crafts, and plenty more! We were also required to teach them leadership qualities and responsibilities, as well as fun camp songs and dances, with everything being very interactive.

Tutoring Approach:

My personal approach to tutoring is a mixture of interactive learning and individual work, making sure to cover all of the required content and keeping a large focus on past exam papers. Depending on what's needed, I like to focus on weaker areas before providing a more general overview, then fine tuning everything closer to the exam period.
