Personal Description:
I am an Independent Educational Consultant specialising in Dyslexic Disorders. I have been a private tutor for many years and have tutored over 200 students. I have worked with many gifted children and those also who find education a challenge. I specialise in special needs especially dyslexia and Autism. After training as a teacher and the a medical doctor I find that my interest has remained in the education field and so am now to begin training as an Educational Psychologist with the Institute of Education, University of London.
Teaching Experience:
Over 20 years teaching experience with 18 years specialising in special needs. Over 10 years an an Independent Education Consultant specialising in Dyslexia. I am able to offer tuition to students with ADHD, ADD, and Autistic spectrum disorders. I also have a child with dyslexia and Autism so understand the domestic side to these conditions as well as the educational.
Tutoring Approach:
My general approach to teaching is to enhance individual skills by providing an individual programme for the student. This allows the student to learn independently instead of the learning associated within schools of one size fits all. Unfortunately, this does not work with many children who need a structured individualised approach. I also work within the "We find this subject a challenge, not an impossibility" field; that is to say everything is positive concerning the tuition, and everyone can learn, its just they have not been taught in a way that they personally understand. This is especially apparent with the dyslexic student.

Personal Description:
I am a retired professor looking to contribute to the success of young children. I have achieved everything in my life in terms of status and professional achievements. I have a strong passion for Maths and would like to make the learning of Maths a great success and a pleasurable experience for young children.
Teaching Experience:
I have 45 years of full-time teaching experience of Maths and physics in schools, colleges and universities. However for the past 13 years, I have been preparing students exclusively for the linear and modular GCSE Maths for the Edexcel, AQA and O&C examination boards with resounding success. I have the pleasure of tutoring those children who are borderline cases struggling to achieve grade 5 (old grade C) in the GCSE Maths. I have also the pleasure of tutoring high achievers doing higher GCSE Maths looking for top grades 8-9 (old grade A*) for easy admission to top universities in the UK.
Tutoring Approach:
1. My prime objective is to make Maths interesting, easy and simple to understand by all my tutees in a relaxed learning environment.
2. I make use of simple practical techniques to illustrate mathematical concepts which may otherwise be difficult to comprehend.
3. I try my best to motivate and inspire my tutees to do good quality Maths at the GCSE standard which unfailingly translates into improved exam grades.
4. I apply common sense strategies which enhance the learning process and help children achieve their full potential. Needless to say, tutoring of Maths is my absolute passion and I will continue to make a lasting impact on the way Maths is taught and perceived by young children in schools and colleges.
5. I have multiple modern approaches to solve the same mathematical problem in many different ways using conventional and non- conventional methods of learning and my pupil are at liberty to chose the one that they appreciate the most.. If you are looking for a targeted- performance Super Maths Tutor for the GCSE, search no further.
6. Any assignment will be accepted on the PAY AS YOU GO direct debit basis.
7. I charge £120 for a single 2-hours session and £70 for a single 1-hour session.
8. For a pupil doing Foundation Maths, I recommend one 2-hour sessions per week per Term to get grade 5 ( old grade C) and for a high performing pupil doing Higher Maths, I recommend one 2-hour sessions per week per Term to ensure a grade 8-9 ( old grade A*).

Personal Description:
Hi
I have just finished a PhD in maths at Newcastle University so it goes without saying I'm enthusiastic about both maths and physics. On top of this I have a wide variety of interests, and this allows me to find ways of explaining things that the people I'm tutoring can relate to.
Teaching Experience:
While studying at Newcastle I've taken many tutorials for students taking courses in Maths. For the past 6 years I've also worked in a tutoring drop-in centre where any student at Newcastle University can come to ask maths questions. I've always enjoyed this work as over the course of a day I can be asked how to apply maths to many problems from mechanical engineering to fine arts!
I have also done a lot of private tuition of A-levels for all of the major examining boards. I have often got this work from referral of satisfied customers.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a relaxed and friendly tutoring style.
I usually find students learn best by working through questions or examples, but I am also happy provide teaching of entire subjects from scratch. So if you're having trouble understand the material needed to pass an exam/assignment or wanting to learn about a subject from start to finish I will be able to help.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced tutor that enjoys tutoring children and have made a difference to the lives of numerous students who were struggling before but under my guidance have achieved their full potential and excellent grades.
I am working full time in a London Borough of Ealing school at the moment.I am a very patient and a caring tutor
who can motivate and encourage the strengths of the learner.I tutor from the purpose built study at the back of my house where I have all the resources.I am CRB checked and can provide evidence of all my qualifications and references from previous students and parents about my tutoring skills.
Teaching Experience:
I have more than 20 years of teaching experience where I have worked with varied age ranges.I have also worked with special educational needs children.I have experience of the different exam boards so can give exam practice according to the mark schemes to get the best results.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is based on the individual's needs.I assess the pupil first and then cater the lesson accordingly based upon individual needs. The lesson progresses according to the pace of the learner.I differentiate and meet the needs of the pupil.I break the information up into easy steps for some or go straight to the next step for others depending on the student.I praise and motivate the pupil and enhance their confidence.
After teaching a certain topic I also provide a piece of homework to reinforce knowledge. There is continuous on going assessment so that I am aware which topics need more practice.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced GCSE and A' level Biology Examiner and question setter and an ex-University lecturer in Pharmacy (University of Nottingham). I sat on the examination board for the award of the MPharm degree for nearly a decade and I have experience of teaching within secondary school.
I hold a PhD from Imperial College London. have a strong academic track record and have led cutting-edge research teams for Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Zeneca, Novartis and other major pharmaceutical and biotech companies. I am fascinated by science and maths and I believe my genuine enthusiasm for the fields, combined with my working knowledge, based on years as an active researcher, is evident in my teaching.
I enjoy working with students of varying ages and abilities and take pride in encouraging students to reach their full potential. I am patient and understanding in my approach, which I will adapt to meet the strengths and needs of individual learners. I have an up-to- date knowledge of the secondary science curriculum, enabling me to teach biology, chemistry, physics and maths at KS3 and GCSE. However, the majority of my students are studying chemistry and/or biology A'level. With my University teaching background I am perfectly placed to be able to support students to achieving the necessary A/A* grades for entry to medicine, vet medicine, dentistry etc.
As a tenured university lecturer I taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. I have supervised 8 PhD students to successful completion of their thesis. Having interviewed numerous UCAS candidates for degree places, I can also offer advice to hone your personal statement.
Teaching Experience:
I get booked up quickly, so first come, first served! Previous A' level exam results (not teacher assessed grades) are: 100% A*-C 85% A*-A 8% B 7% C. 100% of students got into their first choice universities and 31% achieved placed in medical school.
I have 12 years of personal tuition experience, of which 9 years have been as a full-time professional tutor. I am familiar with all the major examination boards (AQA, OCR, EdExcel, IB, CIE), I have been a University lecturer in pharmacy for 8 years, I have recent school-based teaching experience at secondary level and I am a biology examiner. My tutoring approach focuses not just on telling students what to write, but helping to deepen their fundamental understanding so they understand why.
I am also the previous Vice-President of The Tutors Association, the professional body for the tuition industry. I was elected into this position by members of the tutoring profession and tutor as a full-time profession.
Tutoring Approach:
I offer tuition either online, or face to face from my home. For face to face tuition I have a dedicated space which is free from distractions and all my materials and resources are immediately available to make tuition as effective as possible.
I believe in taking a very individual approach to tutoring, adapting approaches and resources to fit the needs of the individual. Prior to commencing tuition we will agree tuition goals and I will work with these to develop a personalized scheme of learning. During tuition I will monitor student progress and keep records of this so that learning and attainment can be tracked and approaches can be continually adapted to meet the developing needs of the learner.
However, most importantly of all, I believe learning should be fun. I am friendly and approachable and I work hard to ensure students enjoy having tuition, which ultimately will maximize the progress they make.

I am a highly experienced, enthusiastic and very versatile optical engineering senior lecturer/researcher, who gained a PhD from the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, City University, London, UK in "Fibre optical temperature and strain sensors using fluorescent techniques" for measurement applications using the fluorescence generated from rare earth-doped optical fibres (e.g. Er3+, Yb3+, Tm3+ etc.). I also possess very good experience and knowledge of industry, with excellent complimentary skills gained from higher education - in particular industrial measurement, forensic analysis, quality control and statistical analysis. A BSc first degree in forensic science is combined with a further specialist MSc in engineering metrology and topped with a PhD in photonics - making for good, broad-based, multi-disciplined measurement science and analytical capabilities right across the scientific spectrum. I have a proven high degree of personal motivation, and am capable of working on my own initiative or equally as part of an effective team. In addition, I am able to communicate very well at all levels of hierarchy, with excellent skills developed in scientific report writing (journal papers, periodicals, book chapters etc.) and oral presentation (conferences, lecturing etc). I have over 50 publications to date in my field: 20 journal papers, 22 conference papers, 2 articles, 4 book chapters and other major works.
PhD thesis title:
"Fibre optic sensors based on fluorescence lifetime techniques for temperature and strain measurement"
Thesis submitted for examination for the degree of
Doctor of Philosophy
at
City University
School of Engineering
November 2002
Abstract
The author presents a thesis based upon the use of the fluorescent properties of rare earth doped materials. The thesis commences with a review of the current fibre sensor technology in the field, with special emphasis on those sensors designed for temperature and strain measurement. The use of the physical phenomena of fluorescence produced from rare earth doped optical fibre for temperature measurement is then introduced and explained in more detail, particularly with regard to utilisation of the fluorescence lifetime technique in such sensing, which is then compared to the other fluorescence-based methods for measuring temperature.
The recently discovered small strain sensitivity of the fluorescence lifetime is then introduced as a theoretical candidate for potential application to simultaneous temperature-strain sensing, using two different doped fibres in a single sensing element, and subsequently state-of-the-art temperature-strain discrimination techniques are then explored for the purposes of exploitation to dual measurement.
Results achieved from using the fluorescent lifetime approach for a range of rare earth materials are then presented, followed by further results obtained from combining the lifetime technique with Fibre Bragg gratings (FBGs) for the first time. Also, the irreversible effects upon FBG performance after exposure to long-term high temperatures are explored.
Finally, there is a summary of the work presented in this thesis and the author's opinions on achievements made. Current trends in fluorescence lifetime-based sensing are discussed, both commercially and academically, together with projected work for the future.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher with 20 years experience of teaching in London schools. Throughout my career I have taught Chemistry, Physics and Biology to Double Award, Triple Award, GCSE Chemistry, AS/A2 Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I have taught all the major exam boards including AQA, OCR and Edexcel.
I have also taught Maths at both primary, KS3 and GCSE.
This varied experience has helped me to not only develop a variety of teaching techniques and has led me to become an excellent teacher as demonstrated by outstanding lesson observations.
Guaranteed pass rate
Teaching Experience:
I have produced outstanding results for students from KS3 to KS5. A levels Top 5% results, nationally for A level Physics and top 10% results, nationally for A level Chemistry. This resulted in a record number of students gaining entry into Russell group universities, and last year 3 of my students sat the mcat exam for Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).
Results for KS4 double entry were 97% A*-C with 8 students over achieving and gaining A grades. Mixed triple science class achieved 90% A*-C.
KS3 results for year 9 top set and bottom sets were in excess of 75% achieving 2 sub levels of progress or more over the course of the academic year, which meant that students with a KS3 grade of 3 would be studying for triple science.
Tutoring Approach:
I strongly believe in developing pupils as independent thinkers who are learning motivated. The recent changes to the national curriculum have given us an opportunity to develop cognitive learning through practical activity. This approach provides challenge and focus as well as creating a love of science.
I create an environment that is safe from physical and emotional harm promoting respect for all people. This allows all pupils to be confident and interact in a meaningful and intellectual manner, within the classroom. I believe all children have a right to an education tailored towards their individual abilities, and circumstance, enabling them to achieve to their full potential.
I identify areas of weakness using a personalised learning checklist and I am committed to using a wide range of strategies to raise achievement and ensure that all pupils reach their full potential. I continually assess and monitor the progress of students work and provide regular and meaningful feedback to students about their progress.
I produce resources based on past exam questions building student confidence and exam skills and guarantee all students succeed and pass.
I tutor one to one from my home and also offer Skype tuition which is fully interactive.

Personal Description:
I am a UK qualified teacher with 20 years teaching experience. I graduated from Loughborough University with a BSc in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2003 and a year later completed my post graduate certificate in Education at the same university. I have taught in 3 secondary schools in Buckinghamshire and Derbyshire.
I currently teach all GCSE sciences as well as Year 12 and Year 13 A Level Chemistry at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. I am a designated Advanced Skills Teacher; recognition of my outstanding classroom practice and the excellent results that this generates for the young people I teach. I work for the Cambridge International Exam Board, being an experienced marker of A Level chemistry. In 2024 the A-level classes I taught achieved on average a whole grade higher than other students studying AQA chemistry nationally, which put my results firmly in the outstanding category as measured by ALPS.
In person I am able to offer in-person tuition in and around the Derby, Ashbourne and Uttoxeter areas. I also offer remote learning via MS Teams.
I am currently taking on students for the academic year 2025-2026. My services are usually very popular so I would suggest booking in early to secure a slot.
I charge £50 per hour, regardless of whether this is in person or online. That fee also covers my preparation for each hour long session and my time spent reviewing a students mock exams, class tests etc. The first lesson is half price :-)
Having been a 6th Form tutor for over 10 years, I am also able to offer support and guidance regarding the UCAS process, and in particular the writing of UCAS personal statements and I am able to offer preparation for interviews, including mock interviews, for courses including dentistry, medicine, veterinary medicine and Oxbridge applications.
I am also able to tutor Maths, particularly those wanting help and support with the 11+.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught Year 7-9 Science, Year 9-11 GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics and A Level Chemistry. I also teach BTEC Applied Science to Year 9-11 and Level 3 Applied Science to Year 12-13. I am equally at home delivering AQA and OCR specifications.
Tutoring Approach:
I am able to accurately asses the needs of the student, plan short activities to address those needs and re-assess to ensure the student has made progress. I am able to explain complex science in a way that makes it accessible for young people. Sessions mainly involve looking at past paper questions and working on exam technique. In my experience most students are able to understand the science involved in a particular question, but lose marks by not presenting their answers in a format that hits the required marking points. This is where students can be coached by myself and make the most progress in academic outcomes.
I am confident that I am able to forge positive working relationships with children and unlock their potential in the sciences. I am friendly, have a good sense of humour and English is my first language.

Teaching Experience:
I've been trusted to mentor younger students who are struggling in particular sbjects, and enjoyed helping them to achieve thorough understanding of the weak areas. I work hard, smart and systematically to help more students to enjoy Maths/Science and gain better grades. I have tutored KS3, GCSE and A-level maths, chemistry and physics for a few years and really enjoyed teaching and finding methods that work for the students.
Up to now, all my students are very happy with my tuitions, patient, right-to-the-point and inspiring.
#Delightfully provided private tutoring services to tutees at different levels
&Always identified the needs of learners and if necessary adapted course content and delivery specially-tailored style for the `common` targets
&Provided assistance to students with weak study areas until full understanding (Using their homework, other class assignments, online resources, revision notes and past papers)
&Inspired students to really enjoy the subjects and learn how to learn with joy and efficiency
&Successfully made three groups (KS3, GCSE and A-level) of grade C/B students achieving grade A/A* in Maths and science
&Tought my Chinese (Mandarin) students not only one of the oldest living and most challenging language, but also the ancient oriental culture background and philosophy fundamentals in depths: 大道至简至易( Laotze said that the way to achieve THE great DAO is usually the simplest and easiest way. It may be so simple that you want to laugh about it. "Too easy to believe")
Tutoring Approach:
I take a relaxed approach to teaching and inspire tutees to understand and enjoy what they're learning. Always tailoring the teaching method & materials to their individual needs, my approach is friendly, patient and structured with plenty of materials in application.
I pay very close attention to what the learners are going through, and give them the time and step-by-step guides they need to fullly understand the subject.

Degree in Physics.
MSc in AI.
I have worked in Digital Media - a cross between IT and Publishing for 20 years so have a lot of Commercial work experience which enbables me to teach from a much broader perspective..
I am also a Classical Singer.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching privately for the last four years, mainly Maths GCSE but also A Level and Physics GCSE / A Level, and have helped a number of students obtain the grades they required.
I have experience of teaching OCR, AQA or Edexcel syllabuses.
Tutoring Approach:
I'm exam focussed, as most pupils have been taught the syllabus but need help applying that knowledge to answer exam questions.
I initially work through an Exam paper or two with the student to identify any topics that require more in depth tuition. I will then focus on that topic for a lesson making sure the pupil understands the basics then build their confidence up applying that knowledge to answering questions, easy ones initially then building up to the required grade.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and outgoing tutor. I have studied at Wilson's School and I have a variety of interests. Teaching has always been my passion and I enjoy interacting with young students.
Teaching Experience:
I initially started teaching students at my local library. Finding it a very rewarding experience, I continued this passion by teaching 11+ and GCSE students. I have now added several A Level students as well to my lessons.
I have taught 11+ students on a regular basis. I have also conducted many intensive courses for 11+ Maths and English in July/August in order to help them gain momentum for the 11+ entrance exams.
I have helped several GCSE and students achieve their target grades and have enjoyed seeing them gain confidence with every lesson.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe in connecting with my students in a way that they gain confidence and clear insight in their subject. I follow a clear structure in my lessons in order to cover all relevant topics that they need help in, teaching them not just the theory but also the exam technique to help them achieve the highest marks possible. I share tricks and learning devices with them in order to make memorising/revising a more efficient experience. I set regular homework, including solving past papers.
I focus on helping my students achieve excellence in their subjects by helping them aim higher. I firmly believe that every student has the capability within to attain success. My goal is to help them in this process and make the journey as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

Hi, my name is Aneesa and I am a Dental Surgery student at the University of Leeds, with over 3 years of professional tutoring experience. I have achieved 3A*s in A levels Chemistry, Biology and Maths and all 9s at GCSE.
I have experience tutoring all exam boards and all levels, with fantastic results achieved by my students, who often jump by over 2 grades.
I focus on closing gaps in learning and building key exam technique to help you achieve the grades you deserve. In my sessions, I tailor my tutoring to align closely with the specification and markschemes, with plenty of exam practise.
My lessons are tailored to YOUR needs and at a pace to suit YOUR learning style.
Teaching Experience:
3 years of professional tutoring experience in all core subjects, with experience tutoring international A levels and iGCSEs as well.
My tutoring style is closely aligned with current teaching philosophies, with a large focus on the specification content and exam practise.
I offer a huge range of Exam questions after content is covered, and I make sure any gaps are identified and markschemes and "exam ready" preparation is discussed.
Tutoring Approach:
I usually conduct my sessions via Zoom using an online interactive whiteboard, which is available for students to view outside of sessions as well.
My approach to tutoring is tailored to my students needs- I won't move on until the topic is understood, and constantly revise topics to ensure content is retained.
