I have been tutoring since 2010 and worked as a tutor in schools and for local education authorities. I offer tuition in Maths, Physics and English(ESL) up to and including A-Level. After graduating in Physics from Imperial College i worked as a theatrical actor before obtaining a Masters in Applied Theatre: Drama in the Community and Drama Education. Additionally I have facilitated drama workshops both in England and abroad going as far afield as India. I have a friendly and relaxed approach and try to give my students the confidence to think and tackle their task by themselves. I'm thirty and have lived, worked and studied in the south Hampshire area my whole life. I love the area and intend on staying here for the foreseeable future! I'm a doctor currently working as a GP Registrar, having completed a Graduate Entry Medicine degree at the University of Southampton. I've worked in a wide range of specialities, including Child Health, Acute Medicine and General Surgery - and a stint in A&E during the Coronavirus pandemic!
Before starting my studies in Medicine, I completed my BSc. (Hons) Human Physiology at the University of Portsmouth in 2015. I attended Hamble Community Sports College, achieving 14 GCSEs at grade A and A* - top of my year - and Peter Symonds College, studying Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Critical Thinking and General Studies. My Mathematics and Statistics GCSE (taken a year early) were the highest the school had ever achieved, both gaining an A* (99.5% and 100% respectively).

Teaching Experience:
During my GCSE preparation and exam period, I tutored several students in my year and below for Mathematics and Statistics, alongside their current teaching at school. I have also, however, given tuition to other adults, most of whom were taking their Mathematics GCSE as an extra qualification in order to get a promotion at work. Mathematics being a specific passion of mine, I encourage students to apply their own knowledge to the question, before adding any new information. By showing proof of how a calculation or question works, I believe that anyone can grasp a method if they are shown the reason behind its usage. I believe I can offer an alternative to the class driven method of teaching, and allow students to gain aptitude in spotting the need for a calculation just by reading the question, and hopefully then on to creating their own calculations and solutions! I also aim to make a heavy question of 5 or 6 marks appear to be just a group of smaller questions, making each mark easier to get. I've been teaching for twelve years now and I've seen many students suffer from a lack of confidence in their own ability, and I always ensure that not only does the person have core, and advanced knowledge, but that they have confidence in the fact that anything can be achieved!

I'm Chris, a 23 year old maths PhD student at Brunel University. I was originally granted a School Studentship to fund my studies but then soon after starting my research I was upgraded to an ESPRC grant. I study maths because I enjoy it, and enthusiasm to teach it comes part of this package. For A-level and higher I specialize in pure maths, so algebra, calculus etc so if you happen to be struggling with areas such as these then I'm your guy. I am a friendly, capable and effective tutor with a degree in Maths. A 20-year career with Shell and 16 years tutoring have given me a lot of experience in helping people and a good dose of common sense! I tutor in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, Newport Pagnell, Bletchley, Olney etc.

Teaching Experience:
I specialise in tutoring Maths and I have been doing this since 2003 at GCSE and A level, with excellent results. I also tutor Mechanics, Statistics, Decision, Further Maths, MAT, STEP, International Baccalaureate and Numerical Reasoning including QTS. Tutoring is the most rewarding thing I have done. I love it!

I am also a member of the Tutors Association and abide by the Code of Ethics and Code of Professional Practice.

Tutoring Approach:
I understand that maths can be difficult and challenging, so I tailor each lesson to the specific needs of each individual student. I listen to and observe each student carefully and work with them to find the best way to help them understand and flourish. My aim is always to support and encourage each student to reach their potential and achieve or exceed their goals.

Every year I run fully invigilated mock exams which all of my students are invited to attend. This has been a great success, with 100% of participants stating that this will improve their chances of doing well in the exams.

Personal Description:
My name is Jamie. I'm a maths graduate from the University of Bath (MMath). I was a Maths Teacher and Key Stage 5 Coordinator at a well-known and very successful secondary school and sixth form in Bath.

I have been a Maths tutor on and off since I was in sixth form and have over 10 years' experience across a variety of ages and abilities (as well as 5 years' experience as a teacher). I'm fortunate that I discovered my passion for teaching and tutoring at a relatively young age, and I have already been able to guide many students at primary, secondary and sixth form level towards their goals.

I have now chosen to become a tutor full-time. It is incredibly rewarding to continue sharing my knowledge and insights with any students who wish to learn. If I can pass on just a little bit of my infectious enthusiasm for the subject at the same time, then all the better!

I would like to keep my tutoring experience as varied and fulfilling as I possibly can, and so I welcome tutees of all levels from any background. Teaching Experience:
In total, I have over 10 years of experience tutoring. This would have started when I was in sixth form studying for my A-levels, then continuing on and off through my time at University and during my career as a teacher. During this time, I have tutored students at primary, secondary, sixth form, and university level, some being short term in the lead up to exams and others being long term.

I also have 5 years' experience as a teacher, and in my last year I was appointed Key Stage 5 Maths Coordinator for my school, giving me responsibility for all of our A-level students. During my teaching career, I was lucky enough to teach groups of all levels - from lower Year 7 right the way up to Year 13 Further Maths A-level.

My experience, both tutoring and teaching, has been invaluable in helping shape the tutor I strive to be going forwards.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe a simple approach to tutoring is the best one. I aim to work closely with my tutees to identify their goals, and create a plan of action to follow to give them the very best chance of success. My experience will enable me to deliver high-quality lessons with unique insights, and these can be supplemented with homework and independent tasks to consolidate knowledge and cement understanding.

Regular communication between tutee and tutor is key, and maintaining this with my tutees throughout their journey with me is one of my highest priorities. This way, we can celebrate successes and milestones towards our goal, but also intervene in good time if any part of our action plan needs adjusting. In the same way, I would always encourage tutees to approach me to share their thoughts on how things are going, so that I can continue with what's working and revise things which can be improved.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Alan. I offer Mathematics lessons online and in person in the Newport (South Wales) and surrounding areas.
I am extremely patient, especially with the pupils requiring extra support. I aim to provide all my tutees with the confidence and the understanding which is necessary for success in the subject. I also undertake examination work which I have done for many years. This gives me a greater understanding of the possible areas of weakness by students in the subject and therefore I can guide them accordingly during the lessons. I travel to the homes of my students and am flexible about evening/weekend lessons according to parent requirements. I also offer online lessons via Skype if that is preferred.

Teaching Experience:
I have some 30 years experience as a Mathematics teacher in both the state and private sectors teaching children from 7 to 18 years of age.
I have also tutored Mathematics for many years to children and adults and achieved very good results.
I have also been involved with examination work for GCSE Mathematics over the years.

Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy teaching on a one-to-one basis and expect pupils to maintain a high standard during the lessons but yet aim to make the lessons as enjoyable and relaxed as possible.
