I am able to offer authentic French whilst still appreciating the difficulties from an English speaker's point of view. I am also qualified to teach Spanish to all levels and have years of experience in teaching the language.

During the first session I present a short questionnaire that I ask the student to fill in (honestly!) in order for me to assess their individual learning styles (right brain vs. left brain, use of visual stimuli etc), so that I can respond best to their needs. Every lesson will begin with an outline of the subject content and the intended aims. The key to success in maths and economics is to do it! With that in mind, the vast majority of lessons will entail methodically working through problems and exam style questions to ensure my students are as well prepared for their modules as possible. I believe there are certain basic skills that are essential to progress with mathematics. My approach is to address the basic skills and then follow up with practice and more practice. I have found in all my teaching experience that progress is enhanced if the tutee has fun. Self motivation is the most efficient way of progressing and enjoyment of the activity enhances motivation.

I am approachable and patient and try to spend time assessing the tutees individual needs and designing tasks and exercises to address those needs.
