I have taught mathematics for over 20 years now and enjoy keeping up to date with lesson delivery, whilst maintaining a keen interest in how we learn about numbers and maths generally. Towards the end of my career I became interested in our parents and how many struggle with the often complicated explanations offered in some texts or online explanations. I am now semi retired and enjoy offering some simple private tuition in addition to continuing to work part time in schools. I am a friendly, down to earth tutor a good sense of humour.

During the lessons, I focus both on supporting the students with the new material they have to learn and on filling the gaps they might have in order to build a solid foundation. I started my career as a Chemical Engineer and completed my PhD in that subject.

My name is Jamie. I'm a maths graduate from the University of Bath (MMath). I was a Maths Teacher and Key Stage 5 Coordinator at a well-known and very successful secondary school and sixth form in Bath.

I have been a Maths tutor on and off since I was in sixth form and have over 10 years' experience across a variety of ages and abilities (as well as 5 years' experience as a teacher). I am 34 year old female, looking to support learners with their education. Teaching has always been my passion since I was a little girl, and this has continued to grow as I have gotten older. I was diagnosed as dyslexia went I joined university, and this has yet to stop me from being successful.
