I am mum to two boys, both who have flown the nest. I miss them greatly now that they are based in London but try to visit as much as I can. I love to shop and also exercise, especially pilates. Oh and I do love to cook!

Teaching Experience:
I studied at Dundee College of Education where I gained a Diploma in Primary Education. This was a three year course. I then took another Certificate in Early Years. After leaving College, I taught in both the state and private primary sector. I left teaching to have my children and then to nurse my youngest child who was quite sick for a few years. Once his health was better, I started working as a tutor from home or going to the client's house to tutor. I now tutor seven days a week. I have experience in Maths, Language, Phonics and Grammar. I also tutor children in preparation for entrance exams in to the independent sector, which includes Verbal, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Maths, Language and Spelling. The children I have tutored have all had great success, many going forward for a scholarship.
I have an online Dyslexia touch type programme which has had tremendous success. Many children, with the school's permission , come to be tutored within school hours.

Tutoring Approach:
I always believe that the child should feel comfortable with the person they are being tutored by and build up a good relationship. Tutoring is not only about helping the child to succeed but also for them to gain confidence and self belief. I have various methods of tutoring from written work, reading and oral work. I also have a computer available where we can work from. eg online games After each lesson, I give the child homework to be completed for the next lesson.

Over the years, parents and pupils have came to me with issues in struggling in prelims or with confidence issues in learning maths. Extra about my services - Online Tutoring

Lastly, if distance is an issue, the option for online tutoring is available. My tutoring services come with an already set-up online tutoring service. I have organised an online set-up, making tutoring and learning online more accessible, streamlined and easy-to-use. The online lessons are easy to arrange and set-up, I will provide the necessary information and guide you through the set-up, if needs be. Currently, I use a programme called Discord, which has all the necessary features for online teaching and above all it is free. Student lesson notes will be uploaded, areas of focus will be detailed, learning progress will be tracked and recorded and learning is made easy, convenient and transparent for everyone to see and track.

Tutoring Approach:
My lessons focus on filling gaps in knowledge, building confidence in pupils and making understanding of mathematics topics easy through a direct, step-by-step process, making the lessons structured and easy to understand.

A Systematic approach to Teaching and Easy-to-follow lesson structure - I adopt a systematic approach to teaching learning content is taught in a step-by-step process that ensures lessons are easily understood.

Identify pupil's strengths and weaknesses - I will firstly identify pupil's areas of difficulty so we can begin focusing on areas where students needs work on to ensure there are no gaps in learner knowledge for a strong mathematical foundation so pupils feel confident in their understanding.

Exam revision and past papers practice - I will introduce various successful exam strategies, past-paper revision techniques and plenty of exam practice so pupils can feel confident going into the exam.

Clear communication and transparency of pupil's learning progress with pupils and parents - I will update both students and parents of the learning progress at the end of the lesson so everyone is on the same page.

Provide recommendations for maths practice books and flexible lesson scheduling - I will also recommend any books to purchase. Furthermore, I provide flexible scheduling of lessons to work around the pupil's timetables.

I am a qualified and experienced accounting lecturer and have started my teaching career in 2009 and since then I have been Lecturing Accounting and Finance units in both classroom and online settings. Teaching Experience:
I am a fully qualified teacher and I previously taught in secondary schools in Brighton. For the last ten years I've worked solely as a full time tutor. I do tuition in schools, for local authority agencies and I also do private tuition. As I work solely as a maths tutor I have refined my teaching style, resources and approach over the years to provide a service that always gets positive feedback.

Tutoring Approach:
My aim as a tutor is firstly to re-engage my tutees so they gain confidence and a level of understanding that will help them to succeed in class at school. I feel that is important as they will see their class teacher a lot more than they will me.

On my first lesson I always give each student a folder filled with printed resources and an exercise book for us to work in. I also recommend the best websites and apps for them to use (there are so many it is hard to know which are any good). I can also share resources and exam papers electronically with my students and parents.
