I am yet to come across a student who doesn't possess the potential to improve. More often than not, it is the large class sizes at school, or a teacher whose approach isn't the right fit, which explains why a student doesn't understand a particular subject, or particular topics within that subject.

Through the 1-to-1 work I do with students, not only have I witnessed some remarkable grade improvements but also some amazing transformations in confidence. I strongly feel that the work I do is more than merely improving grades for exams.

⭐ My philosophy is that if you are struggling with a particular subject or topic, it's not your fault and there's nothing wrong with you. It simply means you've not been taught in a way that makes sense to you (or you've not been given the time and attention to be taught properly - in a big class and with the pressures on teachers to deliver an extensive curriculum).

I realised I had a flare for imparting knowledge when I became a basketball trainer at 15, working with Primary and Secondary pupils. My name is Jamie. I'm a maths graduate from the University of Bath (MMath). I was a Maths Teacher and Key Stage 5 Coordinator at a well-known and very successful secondary school and sixth form in Bath.

Teaching Experience:
I have a wealth of knowledge with the KS1&2 curriculum and have extensive experience preparing children for year 6 SATs. In addition, I have worked as a KS2 examiner, to mark SATs papers, giving me valuable insight into assessment expectations and standards.

I have strong experience supporting children with SEND and neurodivergent learners. I understand the importance of adapting teaching approaches to ensure every child feels engaged and capable of succeeding.

I am an experienced supportive and successful Maths tutor for over 20 years with a track record of improving my student's grades. I am a highly qualified mathematician with years of experience tutoring GCSE and A Level Maths. I am an enthusiastic professional, supportive, patient and friendly tutor who aims to help my students enjoy the subject, become confident in their subject and ultimately achieve improved grades.

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience in tutoring boys and girls of all ages for Maths GCSE and A level. I have a comprehensive knowledge of all current maths qualifications including the specifications for GCSE and A Level Maths offered by various exam boards. From first time exam takers to mature students needing to pass maths exams in order to progress to a chosen university course or in their career I am able to assist them in achieve better than expected grades.
I have a First-Class BSc Honours degree in maths and taught maths at University. I also come from a Business background in Computer Software where I taught mathematical concepts and developed analytics so I can talk authoritatively about maths in Business.

My tutoring is tailored to the individual pupil helping them to build on strengths and find understanding and confidence in overcoming perceived weaknesses. We can focus on topics they find difficult, consolidate what they are currently learning in school, working through homework or preparing for exams. Holding a UK ENIC-evaluated Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (RQF Level 6) and top-tier examination scores in Maths (198/200), Chemistry (193/200), and Physics (187/200), I am passionate about making STEM subjects accessible, engaging, and rewarding for every learner.

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience providing 1-to-1 and small-group tuition in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry for secondary students. In addition to private tutoring, my current UK school placements through my PGCE involve delivering curriculum-aligned science lessons across Key Stages, conducting formative assessments, diagnosing learning misconceptions, and guiding students toward exam success.
