My journey into education started as a behavior and academic mentor helping those with barriers to their learning. I later developed my passion and skill to become a qualified teacher of Design and Technology at secondary level.

I have also taught KS3 Math (lower ability groups), GCSE Media studies and GCSE Engineering.

I have also worked with Engineering Development Trust and directed many students to apprenticeships post school education. I have strong knowledge and understanding of the forth industrial revolution and skill sets that will benefit the next generation in the working world that they will enter.

I currently work as a Design and Technology Teacher, specialising in Technical drawing. I am very familiar with AQA, Edexcel and OCR syllabuses. I also mark GCSE coursework and exams for the AQA exam board.

Learning is a personal journey. I am strong at scaffolding and differentiation of work. I like to work with students who want to build on their knowledge through a style which works best for them. I am a highly experienced, qualified Maths teacher with a track record of good results. I have a First Class Honors BSc in Mathematics from Durham University and a PGCE from Kings College London. I am a well-rounded, high-achieving and compassionate person. I achieved 5 As at A level and have a diploma in piano performance.

Teaching Experience:
I have been a qualified classroom teacher for 8 years and, in addition, have tutored students ranging from age 7 up to adult. I have taught at a Grammar School in the UK as well as private schools in Malaysia and the UK. My classroom teaching has been for students aged between 11 and 18 and includes GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. My students have always achieved well due to the fact that I inspire them to enjoy the subject and know how best to prepare them for their exams. I believe that every student is capable of succeeding in Maths as long as they are taught in a way suited to them. I also believe that it is important in Maths to truly understand the content and how it all fits together. Making links between topics is vital as there is then less to remember and it becomes much easier to recall information in future. Maths is a subject which requires a lot of resilience and many students suffer from Maths anxiety because of the fear of getting it wrong. In the classroom, students can often struggle if they are not receiving the individual support they need and, as a tutor, I have a unique opportunity to give this.

As a tutor, my first task is to ensure that each student believes they can succeed. I am a qualified primary school teacher with 18 years teaching experience and over 5 years tutoring experience. I offer after school and during the day teaching sessions for primary aged children (including families who have chosen to home educate and may seek extra support).

My approach to tutoring is to devise tailor-made, fun and interactive learning activities that will challenge but engage your child to achieve their next steps in learning. I am flexible to offering half hour sessions, particularly for younger children (aged 4 or 5 years old) that may struggle with a 45 minute or one hour session.

Lessons are often pacey, varied and interactive in order to achieve maximum motivation for your child.

I am also willing to incorporate time to discuss next steps with parents/carers in order to support your children's progress outside of the tutoring session. I can provide extra learning materials on request to allow your child further practise in a skill during the week if necessary.

Academic Background

My background is in Mathematics and Education. I studied BSc Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University and then graduated with BA Education with specialism in Numeracy at University of Stirling, which has led me into tutoring mathematics.

I am from the Bishopbriggs area and a former Bishopbriggs Academy student. I adopt a direct, systematic, step-by-step teaching approach, where lessons are structured in a way that makes maths easy to understand. Lessons will firstly focus on identifying gaps in knowledge, reinforced with ample practice questions and then progressing to past-paper level questions. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Krisztina and teaching is my life's passion! Growing up in a family of educators, teaching is definitely in my blood. There is something very special about being able to impact the life of a child, and to play a small role in moulding them into a person that can maybe one day make a difference in the world. Teaching is a fulfilling profession and for me, it provides inner happiness and a sense of achievement. I am proud to be a teacher!

I have 15 years of experience in teaching. For the first 10 years of my career, I taught in Special Education and gained a wealth of experience teaching many wonderful children with special educational needs, including Autism, Down's syndrome, ADHD, Asperger Syndrome and other learning and physical disabilities. In the last 5 years, my focus shifted to online tuition in English and Maths on the primary school level (from Reception to year 6). Due to my tuition, I have seen lots of amazing children not only improve their academic skills but their confidence too.

I am super friendly which helps to create a relaxed learning environment where it's okay to make mistakes. Tutoring Approach:
I believe that learning should be fun and not a burden! My main focus when teaching is to ensure the child is engaged, active and interested. I'm a hardworking, patient individual looking to improve the skills and confidence of my students by increasing their understanding rather than just telling them what is needed to complete their tasks.
