***11+ Verbal Reasoning (VR) is problem solving using vocabulary, language and mathematical skills. I coach students how to complete sequence, work out numerical codes, logical reasoning, mathematical reasoning, alphabet reasoning, word codes, patterns, anagram and coded sequences etc. My tuition helps developing students' word power, vocabulary range and reasoning skills.

***11+ Non Verbal Reasoning (NVR) is solving problems by patterns and shapes. I believe the greatest benefit of 1:1 tutoring (or tutoring small groups), is that it is so much easier to tailor the learning to the student's needs, aiding understanding and building on that towards mastery of a subject. Hello, my name is Debbie, I'm a qualified Maths teacher who is passionate about my students learning and understanding of the subject. I understand that students have their own personal learning needs, that their learning of Maths can vary and cater my lessons to them.

Teaching Experience:
I am a passionate Mathematics teacher with ten years of teaching experience, three within the international private sector. I have also 7 years private teaching, one-to-one, online and small groups. I have demonstrated my ability to teach KS3, GCSE and AS/A Level as well as PYP, MYP and DP Studies Level, through both the levels of progress of my students and their enjoyment of Mathematics as a subject.

Tutoring Approach:
In tutoring, my goal is to support students to achieve to the best of their ability by helping them understand their role in learning, supporting them to develop the necessary subject specific skills as well as understanding how to tackle mathematical questions in order to answer them.

In the initial FREE meeting, I will help students to identify and plan their learning goals. I will then support them to achieve this goals in the future lessons. I engage with parents as I believe that they are also key part in their Childs learning.

Personal Description:
I enjoy working with students of varying ages and abilities and take pride in encouraging students to reach their full potential. I am patient and understanding in my approach, which I will adapt to meet the strengths and needs of all students. I have an up-to-date knowledge of the secondary Maths curriculum, enabling me to teach Maths at KS3 and GCSE.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Maths for over 28 years and my students always reach their potential and beyond. I am familiar with all the examination boards and experienced in tutoring a variety of students to GCSE in a private, one-to-one capacity.

Tutoring Approach:
I can offer both face to face and online tuition.
I believe learning should be fun. I am friendly and approachable, and I work hard to ensure students enjoy having tuition, which ultimately will maximize the progress they make.

Personal Description:
I work mostly as a software developer and have been doing this, self employed, for over 20 years. Maths tuition makes up a significant part of my work, but it is no more than half. Previous work has included engineering, as a draughtsman and CAD operator. I retrained as a teacher in the 1990s during a period of unemployment, but apart from some part time work in further education I have not worked as a teacher until recently starting with tuition.

Teaching Experience:
I have degree in Mathematical Education with Qualified Teacher Status and this included teaching in secondary school. I have also taught a Materials Science module in further education at the same time that I was training as a teacher. This was between 1993 and 1995.
I worked for an online tuition provider from November 2021 to December 2022, teaching maths to students between years 7 and 11, including GCSE revision. I taught around 400 lessons in that time.
At the time of writing this I am still providing online tuition but have a much reduced timetable while I try to acquire some more students.

Tutoring Approach:
For online tuition I use Zoom for the connection and a virtual whiteboard that allows me to share images and documents, and write and draw on them. My approach varies depending on the age and ability of the student. For older students looking to improve their exam grades it is usually a mixture of working through past papers, looking at specific questions, or demonstrating a particular topic. At the younger end We may be going over a topic that has been done in school recently and there will be more emphasis on the student answering some questions as we work through exercises.
I do have some practical experiences of using maths throughout my employment and will try to find real examples of maths in action where this is possible.

As an A level student at one of the top Grammar schools in the country (Queen Elizabeth's Boys School) I know exactly what it takes to achieve the top grades in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Maths. I myself acheived very high grade 9s in these subjects at GCSE so I know what the mark scheme requires first hand. I can teach you the tips and tricks that I used in order to obtain these grades. I am passionate about the passing on of knowledge to younger students so that they can achieve their academic goals. I understand learning can be challenging and that is why I will motivate students to love the subjects they study.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience in tutoring children in KS3 Science both at Queen Elizabeth's Boys School and elsewhere and I have developed a deep understanding for how to help students achieve their potential.
In addition, I currently tutor students part time at my school for their GCSE exams and work as a mentor for many students who are hoping to ace their exams.
I have developed a wide range of effective teaching methods that I can successfully tailor to individuals. I believe all students can achieve their goal with the right support and guidance.

I understand that all students have unique needs and learning styles. I always feel it is best to identify the strengths and weaknessses in the subject so I can plan a good course to follow to better undestand and prepare studetns for the exams.

I've also spent a few months tutoring Year 7 students in mathematics, which gave me valuable insight into how to support learners effectively.

Want to achieve Grade 9? Consistent practice with past papers-it's that simple. Having earned straight 9s and 8s in my GCSE subjects, I understand how crucial it is to master not just the content, but the exam technique and strategy that help you "play the game" effectively.

My lesson style includes:
1. Initial group chat with students and parents: understand goals, expectations, and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
2. Pre-lesson preparation: I ask students to send me their school materials a week in advance so I can tailor the session to match their curriculum-ensuring lessons feel smooth and never overwhelming.
