Therefore, I am comfortable teaching all ages, and whatever the reason for taking up the language. I have also taught in both face-face settings and online (especially during the Covid period) so I am happy to teach in whichever setting that is best for you. Over the years, I have had students with physical disability (i.e. blindness) and neurodevelopment disorders (I.e. Asperger syndrome) so I am comfortable and familiar with changing my teaching technique to suit each student.

Tutoring Approach:
My main approach to tutoring is the principle that there is not a one size fits all teaching method. Every child or adult learns differently, and therefore there is no one approach that will suit everyone. I believe in changing my style to the needs of each student; for example, some students might learn better with visual aid, then I would choose to incorporate more visual material in our lessons. Specifically for little ones, I do not believe in a sit down and learn approach, I have found success in incorporating games into our learning. All in all, I want my lessons to be fun, engaging and yet also productive!

I graduated from UCL-IOE with a master's degree in TESOL education. Before coming to the UK, I worked as an English teacher in a middle school in China. After graduating with a master's degree, I decided to stay in the UK for development. I have worked in different Chinese education institutions, including charity schools for overseas Chinese children, one-on-one tutoring, and teaching Chinese in different British primary schools, middle schools and high schools. GCSE Chinese is taught for the majority of my curriculum and my students have achieved very good grades.

As a Mandarin teacher for curriculum and private tuition since 2015, my major duties are:
Designing different lessons based on the learners' level. Giving English reports to the school or parents. Marking coursework and giving feedback to students. Managing students' behaviour in the classroom. Invigilating examinations.

My teaching method focuses on motivating students to focus more on Chinese learning through interest or the way students are interested. For example, use some catchy nursery rhymes, songs, and small games to guide primary school students who are new to Chinese.
