As a part of my first degree, I developed essential and transferable scientific skills which I now teach my students. My project title was 'Synthesis and Biochemical Evaluation of Heat Shock Protein Hsp90 inhibitors on MCF-7 breast cancer cells'. I specialised on studies, on how drugs are discovered, developed and used to treat diseases. This gave me a deeper understanding of how the human body functions and how drugs can be used to treat problems associate to these functions.

I also have eighteen years of experience working in clinical biochemistry laboratories within the NHS. This encompassed various roles and duties, including producing analytical results to help diagnose and manage patients, troubleshooting and problem-solving, discussion of patients with clinical staff, management and supervision of laboratory staff and research and development work.
