I have a First Class law degree from the University of Oxford and have almost 10 years of tutoring experience. At university, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious Oxford University Undergraduate Law Journal. During my time at Oxford, I also published an article in the journal which was awarded the 'Best Private Law' prize, as adjudicated by the former President of the Supreme Court, Lord Neuberger. Hi, I'm Pedro. I was born in Portugal but have lived in England since I was 9. I'm currently studying BSc in Psychology at Bournemouth University and I really enjoy my degree. I am particularly interested in clinical psychology and as a result since April 2022 I've been volunteering at 'Hammersley Homes', a charity which focuses on helping adults with mental illness. A few hours a week I visit someone who finds himself adjusting back into society, he has autism and bipolar. We speak, go on walks, cycle or listen to music together. I have learnt a lot about how difficult certain people find life. This experience has really helped me to be more empathetic, caring and positive.

I took up a role as 'PAL' leader at my university where I was given a classroom of 20 first year psychology students. Although the role involved me 'facilitating' instead of 'teaching'. I spoke to my 'students' every week on what content they were struggling with, since I had done the same content the year prior, I compiled and summarised content which I had been taught and created power point slides to give them direction and a better understanding on the content. I also emphasised taking care of mental health and getting involved with the community.

My name is Zoe, I'm a student at Magdalen College, University of Oxford. I am a final year law student reading for BA Jurisprudence. I tutor students to help them reach their goals of studying law at Oxbridge or Russell Group. I can help with LNAT practice, interviews, and personal statements. I also offer tuition for grammar school admission tests (11+ exam). I attended a grammar school and have tutored two successful candidates who passed the test with high marks and were accepted into their first choice grammar schools.

I am aiming to become a barrister and anything I earn will be used to support this goal :)

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for five years. I teach leadership and life skills for the Sea Cadets to students aged 9-17. I have delivered LNAT sessions for sixth form students at Magdalen and delivered many outreach classes. I have tutored two successful candidates who passed the test with high marks and were accepted into their first choice grammar schools.

I am an experienced speaker and I have won several Oxford-wide mooting (mock court) tournaments.

Tutoring Approach:
I think that confidence is the most important thing for a young applicant. I aim to strengthen confidence by improving performance in all the application areas. I can deliver sessions in a tutorial-style, inspired by my experience during two years studying in Oxford. I can also give students homework to guide their self-study and increase learning efficiency if this is desired.

For younger tutees I also focus on confidence and timing for the 11+ exam. I will provide age-appropriate sessions which adapt to the child.

Teaching Experience:
I hold a PhD in Law from Glasgow Caledonian University, an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Strathclyde, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business Law, and an LLB. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have extensive experience in university-level teaching in the United Kingdom. I currently teach at a UK University. Previously, I taught at Glasgow Caledonian University as an associate lecturer for nearly two years. My teaching experience covers Contract Law, Tort Law, Company Law, Business Law, Human Rights Law, International Commercial Law, International Trade Law, International Investment Law, and criminology-related subjects.

Tutoring Approach:
My teaching approach is student-centred, interactive, and tailored to each learner's individual needs. I believe that students learn best when they understand not only what the law is, but also why it operates in a particular way and how legal principles apply in real-world situations. Therefore, I combine clear explanations of legal doctrines with practical examples, case analysis, and critical discussion.

My lessons are designed to develop legal knowledge, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and academic writing abilities. I use a variety of teaching methods, including case-based learning, guided discussions, exam-style questions, and structured feedback. For dissertation and assignment support, I provide guidance on research methods, legal analysis, structure, referencing, and critical argumentation.

A typical lesson lasts at least one hour. During each session, I assess the student's current understanding, identify areas for improvement, explain key concepts in an accessible manner, and provide opportunities to apply what they have learned through exercises and discussion. Lessons are paced according to the student's level and learning objectives.

My lessons are suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students (LLB, LLM, and related programmes), as well as mature learners and professionals seeking to strengthen their legal knowledge.
