I have a particular interest in grammar and feel that it is very difficult to have a good grasp of a language without some grammar competency. This is especially important for A Level examinations. However, grammar does not have to be taught in a boring way and I often use games and fun exercises as well as more formal methods. Primary pupils learn mostly through games, puzzles and songs.

My approach to proof-editing / English checking is to look primarily at the language. For some clients - university students in particular - it is not appropriate to offer an editorial service as this goes against the rules of university submissions. However, where I think a mistake has been made or something is not clearly expressed - and it is not a simple matter of correcting the language - then I will flag it up to the student so they can look at it again.

My main aim with my tutees is to build their confidence and enthusiasm for the subject. To this end I concentrate on teaching the skills they require to achieve the grades they want. My role is not to replace the teaching they get at school but to compliment it so a tutoring session could concentrate on planning an essay the student has been asked to write or going through specific areas the student needs help with. I am a native Greek speaker with a very rich teaching experience in languages and theater work. I have a Bachelors Degree in French literature and linguistics but have been living, studying and working 17 years long in Austria so my skills in German language have surpassed my French :)

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Greek, German and French to kids, teenagers, adults and seniors in various settings, both live and online.
My most consistent teaching work has been 6 years of teaching Greek to kindergarten kids growing up in Austria, as well as 5 years of teaching Greek to seniors. I have been parallelly working as a theatre educator for the past 12 years.
