I am an experienced and skilled Tutor of French, Russian and English as a foreign language. I have been tutoring continuously on a part time basis for 12 years, typically working with 5 or 6 students at any one time. I have spent several years living and working abroad, so this has given me quite an international outlook. At the same time, I am quite well-travelled within the UK and have a good understanding of English history, culture and customs. My name is Haidee, I'm a 19 year old from Liverpool studying French at The University of Liverpool. (I often go to Kirkby and Fazackerly to work and see family so would often be available to tutor in that area too). I have thoroughly enjoyed learning French for 8 years and would love to pass on my knowledge so that you can enjoy learning French too! In school I sat my GCSE early at the age of 14 (year 9), passing with a B. I then continued to study French for the final two years of school and passed again with an A*. I also started studying Spanish in the last two years and passed with an A. During college I studied French to A2 level, passing with a B. In my time in college I spent a week each year in Montpellier living with a French family and attending a French language school, which I really enjoyed and feel helped me with my learning.

In my free time I love to cook (although I'm not very good at it!), go out for meals (when my cooking goes wrong!), read and watch films. I also love to practise Tae Kwon Do, which I started at the age of 15, although I don't do this since I moved away to university.

This is my first time trying tutoring, but I often helped my sister with her French to GCSE level. I also helped a friend of mine who struggled in school to pass her English and Maths GCSE by using imaginative teaching and memory techniques, to which she was very grateful. Due to having friends that also study languages I am used to being able to help others in areas in which they struggle. I have worked with children and young adults from age 2-18 part-time for the past 3 years and so would be comfortable teaching from all ages.

Every new batch of tuition starts with getting to know more about the students. It is at the same time important to give the students enough space to familiarise themselves with me. A discussion will then follow to scope down what will be covered in the syllabus. A work plan is also devised with the aim to complete the syllabus well before the examinations, so as to have adequate time for revision. The following steps outline the process of each tuition session:
1. Initiate the subject or topic based on discussion of a real life example / scenario
2. Introduce the theoretical part of the subject or topic
3. Explain how the theory links to the real life example / scenario
4. Work out and explain some examples
5. Immediate evaluation of student's understanding through questions and answers
