My name is Haidee, I'm a 19 year old from Liverpool studying French at The University of Liverpool. (I often go to Kirkby and Fazackerly to work and see family so would often be available to tutor in that area too). I have thoroughly enjoyed learning French for 8 years and would love to pass on my knowledge so that you can enjoy learning French too! This is my first time tutoring but I have a genuine love and flair for languages and have enjoyed teaching friends in my own time, so please don't let this put you off as I would love to help!

In school I sat my GCSE early at the age of 14 (year 9), passing with a B. I then continued to study French for the final two years of school and passed again with an A*. I studied medieval languages, literature, and history at the University of Cambridge before completing an MA in Medieval Studies at the University of York. I then moved to La Rochelle (France) in 2016, where I taught English in two schools. After spending 4 months in New Zealand, I began teaching English at the Sorbonne University in Paris (2018-2020). I am now in the process of completing a PhD which focuses on medieval literature and languages (including Old French). I have been teaching French for 5 years in British schools (from level A0 to level C2) and also giving private lessons online for more than 2 years (general French, conversation, exams, etc.)

📜 Certifications

I have studied hard to obtain the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). For 4 years, I have learned how to teach French effectively and how to help each student to reach their potential.

My approach is the following: teach pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar through engaging activities such as role-playing and discussions oriented to your areas of interest.

Our first lesson will start with a simple assessment of your skills and, depending on your level, I will design a specific learning plan in order to make you achieve your goals.

Personal Description:
Hello! I am a French and German graduate from the University of Cambridge with experience in tutoring languages for children and adults through volunteering and working as a teaching assistant both in the UK and abroad.

Teaching Experience:
In the past, I have volunteered to help at a local lower school, where I would give speaking practice to small groups and help them reinforce new vocabulary ahead of mock tests. I have also been a teaching assistant in upper school, where I have helped students on a 1:1 basis.
