I have been teaching Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level students now for more than 20 years - and I achieve great results.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is very student centric - focused on the needs of the student. If I believe theory is lacking, I will explain the theory in a comprehensive way. If I believe application is missing, I will go over many questions, guiding the student through them. I have a mix of my own questions and past paper questions that I use. As the exams draw nearer I will focus more on past papers.

I also give each student, if they or the parents want it, activities to do which I will mark at the next session. This is like homework except I will try to make it more engaging and fun. None of my activities are generalised - I will base each on what the student requires. I decided to start tutoring after my experience in trying to get tutors for my own children. As a professional working internationally I thought it would be easy to hand over this important element of their education to someone with both experience and patience. My notion was quickly turned on its head. The Tutors I found taught textbook style with the one shoe fits all approach. My children and others didn't fit into that mould. My approach is open and relatively informal. I feel that tutoring works best when a relationship is established between myself and the student - they should feel free to ask questions, raise issues, and discuss any aspect of the work that interests them. It's very different to being taught in the classroom: in addition to individual attention, it also offers the opportunity to read and study texts not on the curriculum which can augment and strengthen the school syllabus. English is essentially a skills based subject. Although there is a lot of content to learn at both GCSE and A level, students benefit from being able to access and flexibly use the techniques needed to study and criticize. Reading, debating, and discussing a variety of texts enables the student to develop and apply these skills in lessons and exams.

Tuition is available in English Language and Literature for all secondary years, including GCSE resits. I can also tutor pupils preparing for the 11+, and scholarship entry in Year 7 or Year 9. Personal Description:
As an experience Deputy Head, English Teacher and GCSE Examiner I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for my students to feel as ease and confident when it comes to English and those all important exams. Literature is more than just words on a page; it is a gateway to understanding the human experience through different lenses and eras.

What excites me most is helping students find their own voice and witnessing the "lightbulb moment" when a complex text suddenly clicks. Whether we are deconstructing a classic play or refining a persuasive essay, I love showing learners how to harness the power of language to express themselves with clarity, confidence, and flair. Helping someone transform from a hesitant reader into a critical thinker is the most rewarding part of being a Tutor.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for just under 20 years, and tutoring for just under 15 years. Whilst I love my time in the classroom, nothing quite matches the one-to-one experience of working with students, especially supporting individuals to pass their GCSE English exams.

Tutoring Approach:
Every lesson is a collaborative journey that begins with a quick, high-energy check-in to see what is currently clicking - or clashing - in the classroom. We start with a "Mastery Minute" challenge, usually a creative writing prompt or a quick-fire analysis of an unusual text, to get your brain in gear and shake off the school day. Because no two students think alike, I swap rigid plans for a flexible toolkit. If you are a visual learner, we might map out a Shakespearean tragedy using digital storyboards; if you are more analytical, we will "live-mark" a model answer to hunt for those elusive top-tier marks. We always pivot based on your energy and focus, ensuring the pace feels challenging but never overwhelming.

We wrap up by distilling everything we have covered into one "Golden Takeaway" - a specific, actionable skill you can use in your very next class. You will leave not just with a better understanding of the text, but with the confidence that the lesson was built entirely around how you learn best.

I am an experienced Mathematics tutor and educational content developer with over nine years of teaching and tutoring experience, with additional experience teaching Physics. I have taught learners from primary and secondary school through university level, adapting my teaching to different ages, abilities and learning needs.

I hold an MSc in Actuarial Science from ISEG, Universidade de Lisboa, and a BSc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos, giving me a strong foundation in Mathematics, Physics and quantitative problem-solving.

I enjoy helping students overcome difficulties, develop confidence and build the skills they need to approach problems independently.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught Mathematics since 2013, supporting learners from primary and secondary school through university level. I also have experience teaching Physics to secondary-school students and students preparing for UTME examinations. My experience includes one-to-one and group tutoring, online tutoring and examination preparation.

I have taught Mathematics and Physics to secondary-school students and Mathematics to first-year university and diploma students. I have also prepared students for UTME and Post-UTME examinations in Nigeria, focusing on conceptual understanding, problem-solving and examination technique.

I have professional experience in Mathematics education and content development. At GradelyNG, I developed and reviewed Mathematics questions and learning content for JSS3 (Year 9) and SSS1 (Year 10), tutored students through Zoom and created video-based Mathematics lessons. At Tuteria, I developed Mathematics questions and worked solutions for 11+, IGCSE and SAT, and taught GRE Quantitative Reasoning.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is patient, supportive and focused on understanding rather than memorisation. I first identify the areas where a student needs support and adapt each lesson to their individual needs and learning style.

I break difficult topics into manageable steps, using clear explanations, worked examples and practice questions. I encourage students to explain their reasoning so I can identify and address gaps in their understanding.
