I am an independent tutor with a strong scientific background and have lived in England since Aug 1965. Most of my school and college education took place in Dudley (West Midlands) and I studied Biochemistry, at Leeds University (1975-8). I am married and have lived in Cheshire since Dec 1978. We have a son and a daughter; both graduated from Universities in Manchester. Following my voluntary redundancy from AstraZeneca, (Jun 2008), I am now a self-employed Tutor / Consultant. Teaching Experience:
During my long service in the Pharma industry (~30 years), I have run many short courses and workshops. During 2005/6, I mentored a pupil (Year 10/11) at St. Peter's High School, Longsight, organised by the University of Manchester. In the past, I have also been responsible for organising and running the weekly classes at the Sikh Temple (Gurdwara), for teaching youngsters the Sikh way of life & Punjabi culture, in helping to improve their knowledge and integration into the Western Society over a period of ten years.

I have been teaching for approximately 15 years. In this time I have taught English Literature, English Language, English as a Second Language, Creative Writing, GCSE, A Level, PSHE and Drama. I completed my PGCE with QTS in Secondary English in 2020, working across two schools in Cornwall, before moving to Bristol to teach full time. I am studying for a PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge.
My background is in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Machine Learning.
In my undergraduate degree at Cambridge I studied General Engineering for two years, which introduced me to a wide range of subjects.

Teaching Experience:
I have supervised 8 undergraduate courses at Cambridge including Math, Mechanics and Materials.
Previously I tutored high school students in Physics Olympiad.

Tutoring Approach:
I conduct tutorials as two-way conversation in which students are prompted to think actively and challenged to develop a good intuition for solving problems.
