My teaching approach to tutoring varies from objective to objective. Languages should always be taught in a full immersion style, especially when it is targeting groups of people who are doing it for either vocational or personal reasons.
Tutoring of subjects such as languages with an objective such as GCSE or Highers or indeed University exams must take into account the syllabus that students must complete in order to reach their target: i.e. pass exams and, at the same time, learn in an effective though 'unforgettable' way. I am an extremely skilled and dedicated teacher with over 20 years of classroom teaching experience, within the London Borough of Redbridge. I hold a degree in psychology, followed by a Postgraduate qualification in Education (PGCE), specialising in English. As a result, I achieved my QTS (Qualified Teaching Status).

Alongside my teaching career, I have consistently tutored children on a one-to-one basis, including home educated learners. I have worked with children across a wide range of abilities , helping them to grow in confidence, develop strong academic skills and achieve success in their learning journey. Specialist Experience

I have a wealth of knowledge with the KS1&2 curriculum and have extensive experience preparing children for year 6 SATs. In addition, I have worked as a KS2 examiner, to mark SATs papers, giving me valuable insight into assessment expectations and standards.

I also have strong experience supporting children with SEND and neurodivergent learners. I understand the importance of adapting teaching approaches to ensure every child feels engaged and capable of succeeding.

Hello!

My name is Hannah. I am a bubbly, outgoing person who is reliable, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching.
In my spare time I enjoy up-cycling furniture and traveling. I love to be outdoors and will always try to walk when I can.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for 20 years. In addition to my primary teaching qualification I also have a qualification in special educational needs. I have a vast amount of experience teaching all ages across the primary sector in all subjects and with all different abilities and needs. I have been a SENDCo, managed and lead numerous subjects and have a thorough understanding of safeguarding.

Tutoring Approach:
I try to plan and teach lessons to suit and tailor individual students in order to meet their needs. I am very patient in my approach to delivering lessons and I pride myself on taking my time to listen to students and parents alike. I try to source tailored resources to meet the needs of the student and will use a range of media ranging from papers, online games and other stimuli in order to keep the student engaged and focused.
