I decided to start tutoring after my experience in trying to get tutors for my own children. As a professional working internationally I thought it would be easy to hand over this important element of their education to someone with both experience and patience. My notion was quickly turned on its head. The Tutors I found taught textbook style with the one shoe fits all approach. My children and others didn't fit into that mould. I very quickly realised that I could do a better job and took the role in house, initially teaching my own daughters before extending out to their friends.

Susannah is a member of the Aureus Trio, exploring works for flute, cello and piano.

Whilst at Trinity, Susannah was chosen to participate in the conservatoire's side-by-side orchestral project scheme, performing alongside professional flautists from the Philharmonia Orchestra and Welsh National Opera Orchestra. My one-to-one online or in-person sessions are for learners aged 14 to mature adults. Lesson length can vary to suit - from 35 minutes to 2 hours. I believe in setting homework and providing full developmental feedback. I have worked with a very wide range of learners over the years and have a fine track-record in establishing successful learning relationships. I have both personal and professional experience of Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties, which I think gives me both insight and empathy in dealing with my learners' needs. I offer flexible, personally-tailored support for each learners' academic needs; whether that is preparing for an examination, revising basic literacy skills, or support with higher level study.
