I completed my PhD in 2015 (University of London), which was about the philosophy of folly in Shakespeare's plays. With photography I teach that a photograph is a language whether is modern expressionalistic, surreal or journalistic. We have to try to understand what the photographer is in fact seeing. Don McCullin and Man Ray are both expressing not only a critique of the outside world but are providing a window into themselves, their deeper nature.
With drama I want the student to experience somehow what the actor is experiencing of what the director wants the audience to feel and/or learn. I'm particularly interesting in conveying the immediate appeal of Peter Brook and finding out, with the student, where Brook and all the other dramatic explorers, what they are saying to us and where they want to take us.
