Hello,
I have completed my PhD in Creative and Critical Writing at UEA. I also have an MA (Distinction) in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway, and a First Class Honours Degree in English Literature. I also have a good Fine Art degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design. I have been a private tutor for twenty years, and have taught many children in that time.

I am currently tutoring in Wadebridge in Cornwall but can offer Skype or Zoom lessons.

I'm 49, married and am an aunt and godmother.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught at undergraduate level at university as well as writing skills in an academic skills centre. I have also taught SATs to thirteen year olds. I have a PTTLs degree level 4 qualification and taught on an Access Course to adult learners.

I believe that Tutoring is first about personal connection. This enhances the educational experiences and broadens the horizons of a student.

Having myself struggled with poor teachers, or unwieldy subject matter, I know that, with the right teachers, such areas can come alive. More clinical approaches to tutoring further separate students from the learning process. Hi! I'm Nick, a 46 yr old graduate of Oxford University, where I studied French and German, and a postgraduate of the University of Manchester, where I obtained a Masters and Doctorate in English. I currently teach GCSE English in my institution, and also work in a university part-time.

GCSE's

Jack's mock results were an E in English Language as well as a D in literature and he wanted to do Economics A level which required a B grade in his final GCSE. Jack had two hours of tuition per week from January to May. He enjoyed going (this surprised me as he hated English before the sessions) and had a new found likeness for literacy. He received a B in both language and literature and can now do A level economics. Jack related very well to David- this made learning easier for Jack and he obtained the grades he needed. His teachers at school noticed a marked improvement in his work when he was having tuition.

Oliver was falling behind in Math's and English. I am very happy to say that his confidence and his ability to retain what David teaches him has improved greatly. His teachers at school have also commented on his marked improvement and he now feels a sense of achievement in everything he does- he also speaks of making David proud. David was/is exactly what I was looking for. Oliver doesn't seem to think about his lesson as lesson, he genuinely enjoys spending Saturday mornings at David's as he now really wants to improve himself! Wow!!!

I am an avid reader who also loves singing and teaching. I studied English and Drama at Queen's University and then went to Newcastle Upon Tyne to study for a secondary English and Drama PGCE (teaching qualification). I am a raising attainment adviser for a local authority and have been involved in borough wide school improvement for several years. I have developed outstanding teaching practice and leadership skills throughout Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I am an experienced EYFS Leader and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator and a Specialist Leader of Education for Early Years. As an Assistant Headteacher, I have supported other teachers and been a Newly Qualified Teacher mentor and performance appraiser. I have worked across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as an English and Reading Leader and have introduced new curriculums with improved outcomes in phonics and reading and writing across key stages and in statutory assessments.

Tutoring Approach:
For Primary school I have the CGP materials for Maths, English and Verbal and Non Reasoning. I have a set of topics for each student and once completed, we tick it off. I also do monthly reviews on topics we have already covered to ensure students are confident and ready for their exams.

For GCSE Maths, I also have topics from Grade 1 - 9 and depending on my students level, i have various material for them to work with to boost their confidence and prepare them for their exams.

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Krisztina and teaching is my life's passion! Growing up in a family of educators, teaching is definitely in my blood. There is something very special about being able to impact the life of a child, and to play a small role in moulding them into a person that can maybe one day make a difference in the world. Teaching is a fulfilling profession and for me, it provides inner happiness and a sense of achievement. I am proud to be a teacher!

I have 15 years of experience in teaching. For the first 10 years of my career, I taught in Special Education and gained a wealth of experience teaching many wonderful children with special educational needs, including Autism, Down's syndrome, ADHD, Asperger Syndrome and other learning and physical disabilities. In the last 5 years, my focus shifted to online tuition in English and Maths on the primary school level (from Reception to year 6). Due to my tuition, I have seen lots of amazing children not only improve their academic skills but their confidence too.

I am super friendly which helps to create a relaxed learning environment where it's okay to make mistakes. I am a patient and approachable tutor and always give my utmost to get the best out of the students. I think my success with students of all ages is due to me being able to put things into their language and to be patient whilst finding a method that works for them. I have been tutoring online for 5 years now and have over 3000 hours of experience. My main areas are English and Maths on the primary school level (from Reception to year 6).

One of the beauties of online tuition that the student can be anywhere in the world. Being an online tutor has given me fantastic opportunities to help many children regardless where they live geographically. I have been tutoring children from my local area, from the broad neighbourhood, from other parts of the country and I also had the pleasure to tutor two children of a British family who live in Italy. They now attend the British School of Milan that is rated 'Excellent' by UK government inspectors.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe that learning should be fun and not a burden! My main focus when teaching is to ensure the child is engaged, active and interested. I'm a hardworking, patient individual looking to improve the skills and confidence of my students by increasing their understanding rather than just telling them what is needed to complete their tasks.

I take a lot of time to plan individual lessons and strive to tailor each of them to the child's specific requirements. Every child is different so every lesson will be different. I initially like to talk to the children / parents and see where they think the weaknesses lie, also simple assessments such as past exam papers can highlight areas that need looking at. Maths and English can be challenging subjects for children, therefore I try to keep things simple and work step by step, to assist the student in understanding the concepts, also polishing the basics as we go along.

Over the years I have gained a diverse repertoire of skills to assist learning at all levels, along with a variety of tried and tested lessons to keep students engaged. I try to work in support of the pupil's school lessons, concentrating on challenging topics and areas where they lack confidence. I currently work as a teaching assistant at a primary school, and I have taught and worked with children up to the age of 15, having experience in teaching at GCSE level and below.
