I am an avid reader who also loves singing and teaching. I studied English and Drama at Queen's University and then went to Newcastle Upon Tyne to study for a secondary English and Drama PGCE (teaching qualification). I have also worked as a full time youth worker and love working with young people. I have tutored adults and children in my spare time. This coaching-based approach I take has proven highly successful. I approach each student and the sessions with an open mind to learn what I need to be of support.

Combining motivational coaching techniques, I offer a uniquely engaging, personally attuned service. The first lesson typically consists of a complimentary educational assessment (usually 30 minutes) to help identify key areas for improvement . All results can be shared with the parent/guardian. I work closely with parents/carers as well as the student to assess any immediate needs that the student has in their English studies. I have liaised with school teachers at parent/carer request to gain a clear insight into areas that school teachers believe would benefit from additional input. This means that the tuition I provide can support targeted areas that need further development and help each student fulfil their potential. If short-term tuition is requested, I will put together a brief plan for you to consider and address any key areas that are needed in a logical and structured way so that you can be assured tuition is going to be suitable for your child's needs.

All materials, whether face to face or online, are prepared in advance and are produced to support achievement in English. After each tuition session, feedback is provided to parents/carers either verbally if the session is face to face, or via email/conversation online if the session is remotely delivered. Any feedback is always welcomed.
