Teaching Experience:
I have a degree in French and German and have been tutoring both children and adults for many years, although my enthusiasm has never waned.
I attended a TEFL course two years ago and am still improving those skills through an on-line course. I find this very easy and enjoyable as I come from the generation who were thoroughly taught correct English grammar and spelling.

I believe in a thorough method of learning languages - not the 'phrase-book style' fashionable for some years. As much speaking practice as possible is essential.

After working in this school for 21 years, I have just retired but miss the excitement of teaching.

I taught in Hungary in Eastern Europe for 2 and a half years, whilst there I taught a number of private students English. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching abroad as my skills were enhanced.
I have taught students and have experience of working in secondary schools, colleges and adult centres. I obtained very good results whilst teacher ESOL and students achieved their E2, E3 and Level 1 results bar a few exceptions. The primary student I taught received positive feedback from her teacher at school saying she really improved in her writing and spelling.
At present I am working in a school whereby I am teaching students from 14-16 years EAL. My learners come from all over the world.

I am also fully qualified in teaching RE to secondary students. I have also been an Edexcel Examiner and Team Leader for the Religious Studies paper each summer for over 10 years now, this keeps me in the loop with Religious Studies and what questions come up each year.

My lessons are very varied and engaging. I make sure the student has a wide variety of tasks. My students have been from as young as 8 years old to adults.
My teaching methods are varied too. I teach to the needs of the particular learner and make sure they have tasks suited to their auditory, kinaesthetic and visual needs. Tutoring Approach:
I encourage students to contribute their ideas as much as possible in my lessons. I prepare lessons thoroughly according to my student's needs and deliver relevant material to stimulate their interests and further their understanding of English in a real life context. I encourage students to speak out and be prepared to make mistakes, and I am willing to give instant or delayed correction as required to model the correct language. I believe there is always a place for teaching grammar points, however, my lessons are centred around real-life contexts and grammar teaching is embedded within that learning process. I am a native British English speaker and I have been teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to adults for 22 years. I love meeting people from all over the world and I absolutely love teaching! I am currently teaching part-time at an adult education college in London and I also provide additional learning support to students on a one-to-one basis. Since Covid 19 I have been teaching online. I really enjoy seeing my students gain in confidence and skills and progress to the next level. Many of them go on to further studies, including university, or get jobs or better jobs.

My approach to teaching is to find out what students want and need to learn. At the same time, if students are preparing for exams I focus on the skills that are needed to pass those exams. I like to get to know my students well and find out what their interests are so I can use this knowledge to plan lessons. I also review students' learning with them on a regular basis. My students tell me I am very patient and they enjoy my teaching methods. I use a variety of resources on different topics and I demonstrate various strategies that students can use to learn outside lesson times. Probably the most important thing for me is to be able to help students gain in confidence in using English in their daily lives to achieve their personal goals.

Teaching Experience:
Since I'm a University student, I prefer conducting online classes the most where it can suit my lecture/tutorial schedule the best ! I'm a very bubbly and cheerful person, so studying won't all just be books and papers, chit chats will be coming in the full package as well ! I've tutored kids between the age of 5-10 before for English so I believe my patience level is well equipped as one the top qualities I have as a teacher ! You definitely won't be studying alone on your learning journey with me !


Just remember, being 'gifted' or not doesn't matter ! Studies all honestly revolve around your effort and originality to it ! If 'gifted' people can memorize/learn content easily on their second try, I'll just do it on my fifth try then.
