My teaching approach to tutoring varies from objective to objective. Languages should always be taught in a full immersion style, especially when it is targeting groups of people who are doing it for either vocational or personal reasons.
Tutoring of subjects such as languages with an objective such as GCSE or Highers or indeed University exams must take into account the syllabus that students must complete in order to reach their target: i.e. pass exams and, at the same time, learn in an effective though 'unforgettable' way. The majority of classes must be delivered in the target language, however in order to meet timing of syllabus coverage and exams some of the concept must be strengthened in the student's language.
In an ideal world, where no exams or timed targets exist, then tutoring of a language should happen 100% in the target language.

My approach to proof-editing / English checking is to look primarily at the language. For some clients - university students in particular - it is not appropriate to offer an editorial service as this goes against the rules of university submissions. However, where I think a mistake has been made or something is not clearly expressed - and it is not a simple matter of correcting the language - then I will flag it up to the student so they can look at it again.

My main aim with my tutees is to build their confidence and enthusiasm for the subject. To this end I concentrate on teaching the skills they require to achieve the grades they want. I decided to start tutoring after my experience in trying to get tutors for my own children. As a professional working internationally I thought it would be easy to hand over this important element of their education to someone with both experience and patience. My name is Josephine and I'm 32 years old. I'm Danish but have lived in London since 2014 when I did my BA in Fine Art.
I have a Master's Degree in Animation Film from The Royal College of Art.
The past 8 months I've lived in Hebden Bridge between Manchester and Leeds to open our first Studio in FedUP Studio Lab, the production company where I work part time. My role is producer and assistant creative director. I'm a freelancer director in the company as well.

I enjoy tutoring because the process between student and tutor is wonderful. I am an established artist in water colour and sketching with a portfolio of over 600 completed works.

I am 48 years old, young at heart and a professional English Teacher

I enjoy writing spoken word, poetry and songs. I have recently found out that I can write songs and can sing! I am going to release a commercial record about a health condition with Basil Gabbidon from Steel Pulse very soon! Basil Gabbidon created one of the most popular reggae bands in 1975 in Birmingham, England. The song is in a rap, poetic style with some singing.

I enjoy teaching English and meeting new people.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching student's in England and around the world for five years. I have taught face to face in Schools, Academies, Adult Education Centres Businesses and on line for five years.

Tutoring Approach:
My name is Heather and I have been teaching English on line and face to face in England and in Spain. I work with children and Adults. I can teach English and Business English.

I like to be interactive with the student and can focus in on any particular area that is needed. You may choose to have a conversational type lesson with error correction and pronunciation or a more prescriptive approach, for example grammar or for a specific English Exam.
