I am a 45 year old lady residing in Ashford, Kent. I originally come from Africa and have been in England for 10 years now. I trained as a primary school teacher but resigned after 16 years mainly because I wanted to travel and broaden my experiences. My teaching approach to tutoring varies from objective to objective. Languages should always be taught in a full immersion style, especially when it is targeting groups of people who are doing it for either vocational or personal reasons.
Tutoring of subjects such as languages with an objective such as GCSE or Highers or indeed University exams must take into account the syllabus that students must complete in order to reach their target: i.e. pass exams and, at the same time, learn in an effective though 'unforgettable' way. By communicating 1 to 1 basis i get to fully engage with the students and commit my time seeing them shape to be better speakers but also challenge them to step out of their comfort zone.

I'm a specialist teacher of English to speakers of other languages and a native English speaker. I took my CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Adults) qualification in 2015. I have experience teaching English in the classroom and as a private tutor.

I could help you improve your spoken and written English; increasing your job opportunities and your ability to communicate socially.
One of my students has recently passed the Grade 5 Trinity Speaking and Listening exam for settlement in the UK. Another student improved her English sufficiently to get a bilingual job. I can also teach English for special purposes, such as business English or the English needed to pass the driving theory test.

I'm enthusiastic about education and languages. I was a school librarian for 20 years and have also worked in Germany as a translator. I also give talks and presentations on behalf of a development charity.

Teaching Experience:
I've been working as a self-employed one-to-one English tutor since 2106. My students have come from many countries, including China, France, Poland, Germany, Mexico and India. Their English levels have varies from elementary to advance. Some students have just a few lessons over a short period of time, others have lessons for much longer periods.

During the summer months I've worked in language schools; with Anglo at Keele University and at EF in Manchester. This has helped me maintain and improve my teaching skills by working with other teachers and being observed.

Tutoring Approach:
When preparing lessons, I'm careful to take my students' personal needs into account. My first level with a student will establish their level of English. I discuss their needs with them, how they use English and in what ways they wish to improve their English.
I then plan what to cover in the first few lessons, although this can of course be adapted as lessons proceed.

I am Vanessa and I come from Italy and I am here to help you learn Italian. I live in London but I was born in Rome. I am a qualified Italian Teacher to Adults. I can speak Italian, English, Spanish and Czech. I also have a degree in Languages and Linguistic-Cultural Mediation in English and Spanish and a Masters Degree in Italian teaching.
I have been teaching Italian and English to foreign people both offline and online.
I also prepare students to take the CILS B1 Cittadinanza italiana and I'm an examinator too.
I am very kind and patient and I always listen to all students` needs.
I truly enjoy learning about new cultures and countries, therefore I will have you speaking a lot :D

Teaching Experience:
I have Italian and English teaching experience with both beginner and intermediate classes and I am happy to teach groups or individual. I always try to make lessons as fun and entertaining as possible by including games and fun exercises as well as educational activities of any kind. I believe that when you have fun and you look forward to your next lesson, that`s when you are learning the most.

Tutoring Approach:
I am currently tutoring on Zoom and teaching both Italian and English students.
I use a fully communicative and up to date approach to teach Italian. While teaching I always present the language in the context and features as grammar, phonology and lexis are analyzed in everyday situations. I use a wide variety of up-to-date authentic material which give the students valuable information about modern-day Italian culture and society at the same time as developing the students` authentic linguistic and communicative skills. I use techniques and procedures made ad hoc to meet the students` needs. I will always provide detailed material and in case you want to learn something specifically, just let me know and we will cover it on our following class.
