Personal Description:
Here is a little bit about myself: I enjoy reading, watching television and playing cricket.
I am 55 years old and live in Redhill, Surrey. I am able to tutor the following subjects:
A' Level Mathematics, GCSE Mathematics, KS3 Mathematics, KS2 Mathematics, A`Level Economics and GCSE Physics.
I am available any day of the week, daytime as well evenings.
Before the first lesson is scheduled, I will pay to you in full for the cost of purchasing my contact details. As for the first lesson, if for whatever reason your child is unhappy with my tutoring style within the first 20 minutes, we will stop the lesson straight away and I will not ask any payment for it. This way you will not pay a penny for anything you are uncertain about.
Here is a testimonial from a parent of a child that I tutor:
A great tutor and always strives on making sure the student understands the topics. He teaches my son GCSE Maths and my son has improved since working with him.
He is very approachable and communicates well both with my son and with myself. I`m glad I found this website.
Teaching Experience:
I have more than twenty years of teaching experience, which includes one-to-one tutoring as well as school, college and university teaching.
Tutoring Approach:
I feel very passionately about learning. Mathematics in particular is a challenging subject, but with hard work, patience and a willingness to learn from my mistakes, I have found it very rewarding. It is this same lesson I have learned which I would like to continue to convey to students.
A great emphasis is placed on helping students truly understand the subject material, rather than tutoring them to simply pass exams. My aim is to impart transferable skills beyond the field of studying, whether it be in the work place or students` personal lives. Encouragement is given to students to ask any questions that are concerning them.
Rather than spoon-feed them information, I interact with them by asking them to justify answers to follow-up questions I ask, and hence lead them to the solution as a result of their efforts.
My teaching style is such that I am able to empathise with students with respect to any learning and developmental issues which they may need support with. To achieve this goal, special consideration is given to identifying particular learning weaknesses and providing multiple approaches to learning which best suit the need of the student. This in turn makes the primary learning objective of understanding and advancement achievable as well as an enjoyable and productive experience.
Students are encouraged to chart their progress with my guidance by recording their assessment of specific topics throughout the year. This in turn would give them confidence leading up to their exams.

Personal Description:
- I am currently working as a full time tutor after completing my Masters Degree in Social Policy at LSE. Before this, I was studying a BA in History at UCL. I am absolutely passionate about education and helping students to achieve their full potential. I take a personalised approach that caters directly to the individual. I have been tutoring for 5 years.
Teaching Experience:
- I have held various posts at my school like History Buddy, Maths Support Club. Through doing this I feel I have gained a sense of nurturing and helping people, which I feel would be beneficial in a tuition role.
Tutoring Approach:
First and foremost I hope to instil an appreciation of the subject in the student. I am able to explore the syllabus in a fun way. This can be particularly important if they have had a negative experience thus far with their own teachers. I feel able to relate to students as I have in all likelihood recently experienced similar problems myself and could thus be more accessible than a parent or teacher.
I am able to provide an interesting, insightful and dynamic way of learning.

Personal Description:
I have spent many years accumulating a wide range of academic qualifications, and my work has often primarily consisted of passing on my knowledge to others in a form they can understand. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people to understand something they thought was beyond them. By virtue of having studied several subjects at a high level, I empathise with the feeling of finding something difficult, and have the patience and technique to get past this. I am not a single-subject specialist who might find it difficult to understand why others struggle in their area of expertise.
For students who are preparing for exams, my knowledge of examination technique, and an empathy with the marker, should be invaluable. I always keep in mind the importance of the student's goals, but never take myself too seriously.
Teaching Experience:
My whole career has been geared towards some form of teaching. I have trained groups of adults and children, as well as individuals, in elements of mathematics, psychology, actuarial science, pensions, and even tennis! I have tutored both of my children through IGCSEs, GCSEs, and A-levels (one was home-schooled, the other attended a local comprehensive and 6th Form College). Both obtained numerous As and A*s, and I was particularly pleased to help my daughter to achieve 3 A*s in her A2 exams.
Tutoring Approach:
I look at what is important for the student. I emphasise clear, logical ways of working, and clear presentation. I make sure that they realise that they not only need to understand why they are doing something, but they must also be able to explain it clearly. Explaining a difficult concept to someone else can often be the best way to make yourself remember it. I am calm and patient, and English is my first language, all of which can help when a student finds something tricky.
I am consistently available for tutoring during weekday daytimes. I will sometimes be available in the evenings and at weekends, but this will be by arrangement and should not be relied upon.

Personal Description:
I am passionate about Maths and believe that with proper guidance you can "train" to be confident and capable in maths, and in solving problems and mastering techniques. I graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with a First Class Honours degree in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics.
I enjoy breaking maths down into smaller problems so that it can be accessible and understood by anyone and seen as "brain training".

I am freelance tutor providing assignments tutorial support to students studying under and postgraduate courses in Economics, Business Management, Marketing, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Business Statistics and Nursing, Projects and Dissertations including Data Analysis, Dissertation research proposal writing support as well as editing .
Teaching Experience:
My background is medicine and moved to business specialising in services marketing. I have years of experience as a senior clinical bedside instructor for medical and nursing students then later spent years as training consultant for HIV/AIDS, Sexual health and Health and Social care professionals. I have been a private tutor since 1999.
My recent tutorial work (June-August 2020) was with UNICAF Malawi university during which I supervised and supported MBA students who were studying remotely online
Tutoring Approach:
I use student problem identification approach which means I encourage students to identify and communicate to me what they are experiencing as a problem in their specific topics in their studies and then based either face to face or online, I focus on these specified identified problems. The benefit of this approach is that it encourages the student to study, engage and interact. with me as well as providing me the basis for my own post tutoring assessment to whether my tutorial is making the difference. All my tutorials are highly interactive as I use questions and discussion with the students to make sure that they have understood. There are also min activities at the end of every tutorial as well as homework for students to do in every subject I tutor. These are mainly based on past exam papers and are aimed at developing students' confidence and self belief and develop skills they need to succeed in their exams.

INTERESTS & EXTRACURRICULARS:
• I am passionate about Padel, a racket sport like tennis, most popular in Spanish-speaking countries. According to ITV, it is currently the fastest growing sport in the world. I regularly train with my coach and compete for national rankings in the British circuit.
• I am also a fitness enthusiast whether it is spending time in the gym or swimming. My interest in sports has continued since schooling years, having captained my school teams in Athletics, Swimming and Football competitions.
• Public speaking has been a strong interest which I fulfilled, during my education years, via taking part in Model United Nations conferences. This developed my communication skills which allows me to deliver clear explanations to my students. I represented my school and university in conferences at:
- Oxford University;
- Harvard University;
- Imperial College London;
- Cambridge University;
- Global Young Leaders Conference;
- London School of Economics.
Teaching Experience:
Some of my past clients with their written testimonials are listed below:
• Mr. C - Economics Adult Learner from UK Investment Bank:
'I thought, in all honesty, you were patient, likeable, kind, and encouraging. I thought you covered the material well and concisely and, really, I don't see how what you were offering could have been done any better. It was brilliant.'
• Ms. R - MSc Economic Policy Student from University College London:
'Unlike other tutors, when you explain something it sticks in my head.'
• Ms. R - Business Studies Student from Birkbeck College:
'Haris is very keen and dedicated in his job. He explains the concepts very clearly and succinctly. He was very patient with me as English was not my first language. Haris encouraged me and helped me utilise my abilities to their fullest. He is very efficient when it comes to reaching his aims and always seeks his hardest to achieve the targets. I strongly recommend Haris to all my friends and family members.'
• Mr. A - University Statistics Student from University College London:
'The results came in. I got a first! Thank you very much.'
• Mr. R - A Level Economics Student from Edexcel Board:
'It was a pleasure to be tutored by you. It was extremely helpful. My exam went very well. I felt quite confident with it. I only wish I had called you earlier than I did and maybe started the tuition straight after my January exams. However, the help you gave me in the little time we had was brilliant.'
• Ms. G - University Accounting Student from Regent's University:
'You are my trophy tutor!'
• Mr. B - Executive MBA Student from Imperial College London:
'I would like to thank Haris for his professionalism in giving me tuition. He has been able to, in a short period of time, give me good foundations which enabled me answer the exam questions confidently. He has been very focused in guiding me through Macroeconomics and I have found his tuitions very effective. This has resulted in my top mark in the exam.'
• Mr. E - A Level Business Studies Student from AQA Board:
'We are very impressed with Haris. My son gets on very well with Haris.'
• Ms. W - A Level Economics Student from Cambridge Pre-U Board:
'Haris has been exactly what we needed for our son's revision sessions. He is an excellent teacher and has been helping our son enormously. I would highly recommend him to any student who is not 'up to scratch' with the topic. Haris achieved the 'near impossible' with our son. He made the topic so interesting that our son wants to further progress and take the subject to the next level.'

Personal Description:
Highly experienced tutor of economics A level and former economics examiner for a major exam board.
Intricate knowledge of the structure and the mark schemes for AQA, Edexcel, Cambridge International, International Edexcel - and familiar with many more.
Over the years I have tutored students of all abilities to grasp the content, smash the diagrams and construct top-level essays. Whether they are struggling to keep up or headed to Oxbridge, every student has room to grow and exceed expectations.
My Areas of Expertise
AQA; Edexcel; Cambridge International; Edexcel International
All of these are very familiar to me and I have also tutored OCR and WJEC.
*ALL CONTENT, ALL TOPICS*
Teaching Experience:
Tutor, teacher, and official examiner.
I have tutored economics for many years and have also taught it at a private 6th form tutorial college for three years. I also taught the GCSE history class at a small independent school for a couple of years, back when I tutored history.
My work as an official examiner in A level economics has given me an invaluable insight into what the examiners want to see as well as the most common errors that students can make.
Tutoring Approach:
Economics is one of the best ways to inform ourselves about why the world is the way it is. I enjoy tutoring this at A level because even if students aren't hugely interested in it, they have a lot more insight and interest than they think they do, simply from being part of society. Learning from the news and case studies as well as their own experiences will hugely enhance their ability to learn and this is what I look to encourage.
In economics, the fundamentals must be taught with an eye on good technique which is focused on hitting all of the assessment objectives which are necessary for a high grade.
Receiving feedback from me on practice questions will be the best way to make progress - I have seen how well this pays off!

I am a professional, friendly and enthusiastic tutor. My focus is providing engaging and informative lessons to individuals and small groups. In my spare time I'm a sports fanatic; I play hockey and hold a black belt in Jujitsu.
Teaching Experience:
I graduated the University of Cambridge this year with a BA in Economics. My final year modules included microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, public economics and my dissertation, which statistically assessed the effectiveness of covid lockdown measures in the US and achieved a first class mark (placing me in the top third of my cohort). During my studies I tutored part time, teaching maths and economics.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching approach is problem and discussion based. This involves collaboratively working through problems and questioning students throughout their lessons to confirm and deepen their understanding. In essence, students get the experience of a Cambridge style supervision.
For example, several questions I often ask students to improve their writing are:
1) Would you say it out loud?
2) Would your teacher say it out loud?
3) Would someone a couple of years younger than you/without specialised subject knowledge be able to understand your argument?
For maths, my teaching heavily emphasises learning concepts from first principles to avoid unnecessary memorisation and confusion. We then cover a broad range of past exam questions to test all aspects understanding.
Lessons are conducted on zoom, where we can share our screens to work through problems together as a team. We also use bitpaper, a premium online interactive whiteboard.

Personal Description:
Passionate, experienced educator and Chartered Mechanical Engineer with an MBA from London Business School and a strong background in STEM fields.
Before tutoring, I worked in the city for large blue chip financial services organisations within technology and data architecture. And before that I worked for tech companies including Microsoft and Uber, taking some time to organise an expedition to Antarctica on behalf of HRH Prince Wales, the Commonwealth and the BBC. I've learned how to build and lead world-class teams and really enjoy bringing a love of mentoring into tutoring key subjects.
Beyond my work, I enjoy climbing and writing music, and I'm driven by a desire to help others succeed, both in the classroom and beyond.
Teaching Experience:
100% success rate in improving student's GCSE and A-Level performance by a minimum of 2 grades or to the top possible grade.
Experience in GCSE Maths and Physics; A-Level Maths, Further-Maths and Physics; Post-Graduate Business and Management.
"Thanks so much for all your help it really paid off! I really wasn't the biggest fan of maths but I will miss our tutoring lessons as I actually found them fun." - Tutee Testimonial
"I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you for the fantastic support you've given my daughter." - Tutee Parent Testimonial
General Experience:
I have also coached and mentored professionals throughout my career, guiding them through complex projects and helping them to achieve personal and team goals. My experience working with young people stems from my time as a mountain guide, where I took groups of children on outdoor expeditions, teaching them about the environment and leadership.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is to tailor each session to the student's individual needs, focusing on making challenging subjects like Maths, Economics and Physics more accessible and engaging.
I believe in building confidence through problem-solving and helping students develop critical thinking skills that will serve them well beyond their exams.
Drawing on my experience in high-pressure environments, I aim to foster resilience and curiosity, encouraging students to ask questions and explore topics from different angles.
