Having tutored 50+ students over 5 years, I believe the role of a tutor is much more than helping them understand the course material in a clear and succinct way. Instead, planning ahead to achieve short to long term objectives with the student, such as a target predicted grade is especially important in motivating the student. I teach Economics in an interactive, unconventional and patient way. I use examples that are culturally relevant and real-world case studies to bring Economics to life. My approach is very learner-centred and customised to each student, so that they can build interest in Economics for the long run.

In terms of exam technique, quite a few students struggle in longer questions as they do not understand how to evaluate and lack structure in their answers. I can analyse the students' answers, train them in evaluation, and offer suggestions on how they can improve. This can range from applying real-world examples to following a framework for their answers.

Mathematics (A-Level or GCSE)
Mathematics can be a difficult and boring subject. However, I do my best to keep the concepts and logic simple and easy to understand. They say Asians are good at math but that is not true without hard work! Of course, I keep the lessons fun with the occasional joke and share how maths is useful in the long run.

I have a huge love for maths and what it can teach you - it's not just all numbers! It has many applications to real life and is so rewarding when you get it right. I believe any maths can really help you to develop your resilience, analytical thinking, and creativity: there are often so many ways to approach problems! As an extra-curricular alongside my course, I take Spanish, studying at roughly C1/C2 standard. Aside from academics, I particularly enjoy running, biking, and swimming in my free time, as well as playing the piano.

I have been tutoring throughout my undergraduate degree course at university, spanning GCSE Foundation and Higher Tier, GCSE Further Maths, and A-Levels. My first degree in International History and Politics included Economics as a subsidiary. My professional accountancy qualifications are postgraduate level qualifications in accountancy. An additional bonus is that I hold a second degree level qualification in teaching English, which is an Ofqual regulated teaching qualification. My accountancy, business and economics students will receive coaching about how to ensure their answers are well-written and logical. This can lead to higher scores.

My students describe me as professional, approachable and driven. I coach adults over 18 online and resit students are welcome. I have great material including past papers. When we first meet we will discuss your learning needs so that I can develop a personalised learning plan for you. During each class, I initially explain the concept, then we work on a task together.
