I have never taught full-time (although I was once up to around two-thirds of a full timetable). I have worked in further education colleges and as a supply-teacher, mostly in secondary. I have taught A-Level Economics for the last 2 years at a non-selective private school. Last year, 1/4 of my students achieved 100 UMS at A2 and 1/3 achieved an A*. One student had achieved a D at AS and finished with an A* with a UMS average of 95. Fortnightly sessions are possible where you do work in between for me to mark before the lesson.

When students have specialist teacher(s) at school, college or university the usual way of progressing is for them to work on one or substantial pieces of work. These might be a series of short-answer questions, data response, essays etc. This may be one given to them by their teacher(s) or I can supply assessment materials if needed.

They send me the work a day or to before the lesson so that I can mark it in advance for discussion. There is also often time to discuss one or two topics with which the student is having difficulty.

Students in education usually do one-hour sessions weekly or fortnightly but some students make more or less frequent arrangements.

Although this is the way that most students work, other approaches may be needed depending upon the student's course and requirements. I aim to be as flexible as is necessary to ensure a student's progress.

I have recently completed my A-levels achieving A*AA in Maths, Economics and Chemistry respectively from the Skinners' School. I always offer a free consultation before the first lesson, to understand my clients' needs and to ensure our learning styles fit. My specialist subject is Economics at IB and A Level across the CIE, AQA, WJEC, and Edexcel exam boards. I hold a First in Economics from a Russell Group university and achieved straight A's and A*'s in my GCSEs and A Levels.

I have tutored Maths and Economics since 2021, and in that time have received 100% positive feedback from my clients who often go from fail-grades to As and beyond in short timescales. I have also taught English as a second language and Maths in several parts of the world, including Nepal, China, and Thailand.

I have taught various subjects as a private tutor since 2021, but I specialise in Economics. I also incorporate exam-style questions where relevant, ensuring students develop both knowledge and technique.
