I enjoy teaching as well as learning. I have been a tutor/lecturer in schools of Art and Design/Architecture for over 12 years. I completed my MSc and PhD in Architecture and MA in Interior Design. I have been a loyal student to BCU, where I obtained, both my Fine Art degree and my MA in Art and Education Practice. Planning for my PhD research study too. I became a practicing artist and researcher in the subject of Britishness and modern values since 2003. Working from my studio as well as researching . I developed an excellent rapport with artists and designers in the industry and decide, after several years of working for top high Street retailers as a fashion and textile designer, to build my own company up whilst teaching in Further Education. I became Head of the Fashion and Textiles Course in a top London college. Here all my students on the BTEC Diploma Level 3 and Level 4 courses gained work placements with Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes and many more. Many entered into their first choice Universities with my knowledge of putting their portfolios together and teaching life drawings to accompany their portfolios.

I founded my art company in 2017 in Reigate. Hello there! My name is Hannah, and I am a friendly and patient Art and Photography teacher with experience supporting students of all ages. I hold an undergraduate degree in Fine Art, a Master's degree in Creative Practice, and a PGDE in teaching, and I am currently teaching in a high school while also having experience in a college setting.

I absolutely love helping others discover their creativity and develop their confidence, whether that's working towards exams, building a portfolio, or simply enjoying art as a way to relax and express themselves. I pride myself on being patient, supportive, and adaptable to each student's needs. Fully DBS checked, I bring both professionalism and warmth to my lessons, creating a safe and encouraging space where students feel comfortable to learn, grow, and explore their artistic potential.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching both Art and Photography across a range of levels. I am currently a high school teacher, working with students from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE and A-Level, and I have also taught in a college setting. This has given me a broad understanding of exam board requirements, assessment criteria, and the skills needed to support learners at different stages of their education.

Over the years, I have worked with a wide variety of students - from those who are just beginning their artistic journey to those preparing portfolios for further study or creative careers. My teaching experience has taught me how to adapt my approach to suit individual needs, ensuring every student feels supported and motivated.

As a fully qualified teacher with a PGDE, an undergraduate degree, and a Master's degree in Art, I bring both subject expertise and practical classroom knowledge. I am also fully DBS checked, giving families peace of mind.

My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each individual. I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand their goals, strengths, and areas for development before shaping lessons around them. Whether a student is preparing for exams, building a portfolio, or exploring art for fun, I create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and inspiring.

I aim to build confidence as well as technical skill, giving students the freedom to experiment while also developing strong foundations in technique. I encourage creativity and independent thinking, helping learners to discover their own artistic voice.

Most importantly, I want tutoring sessions to be enjoyable and motivating. By creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions, trying new approaches, and celebrating their progress.
