Tutoring Approach:
I've found in the past that the best approach to tutoring is to be very positive and flexible. I have never been a super forceful or strict tutor and think that trying to be too overbearing, particularly in sessions outside of or extra to school like tutoring, just makes people perform worse. I will always try and be positive and make sure sessions are not painful for students (as I remember how much doing homework can be a chore!), but equally make sure students are getting the most out of sessions by asking questions of them to demonstrate their knowledge and checking they're confident with what we've done.

Currently a Head of Computer Science at a prestigious independent school in Kent, with over 21 years of experience teaching GCSE and A Level Computer Science and IT. I am a confident, patient, and down-to-earth teacher who is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential.

Teaching Experience:
Alongside my teaching experience, I also work as a GCSE examiner, which gives me valuable insight into exam techniques, mark schemes, and what examiners are
looking for in high-scoring answers. This enables me to guide students effectively on how to structure and answer exam questions to maximise their marks.

My teaching approach is clear, supportive, and straightforward. Computer Science is a content-heavy subject with many challenging concepts, so I focus on building
understanding through structured explanations and regular practice.
I use the FACE strategy to support student progress:
