Having a PhD and a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from Sheffield University, I have a great deal of experience in everything from general programming to academic research. For A-level and GCSE students it is worth beginning tuition as soon as possible, not just in the weeks running up to exams (although this can still help). Engineering is one of the hardest subjects you can study, and it doesn't help when module content is disorganised, learning materials are messy and hard to follow, and when lecturers are too busy to respond to your questions. I have been a classroom teacher of Computing Science since 2014 and have experience of teaching this subject at National 4, National 5 and Higher level. My preferred programming languages are Python and LiveCode but I have experience of marking Visual Basic as an SQA Marker.
