I am convinced that one-to-one tuition is by far the most efficient way in which a person can progress and gain confidence. Often someone can grasp a topic in 5 minutes of one-to-one that would have taken 2 hours to cover with a larger group. Once you are confident with a topic, we move on rapidly to the next one. A current A level tutee of mine told his father "I learnt more in that 2 hour session than I have all term at school" and his headteacher wrote to congratulate him on his improved grades. (The reason for this is not that his teacher is bad, far from it, but a tutor can give you personal one-to-one attention, concentrating on the bits you need) I always ensure that the learners are confident with each step before progressing further.

Most recently I have been working as a senior manager in a software engineering company. I am approaching retirement age and returning to teaching. I am a college student, from the North of England. My academic passions include sciences as well as maths. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy travelling, hiking and new experiences. I am a novice polyglot, fluent in German, Arabic and French.

Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring for 3 years, since I completed my GCSE qualifications in 2023

Tutoring Approach:
My lessons are versatile and fun, all while maintaining the objective of the task at hand. I start by assessing the student's baseline knowledge, then scaffold based on that. I continue the lesson by challenging the student to a high grade level, and finish the lesson off by consolidating all the knowledge learnt in the lesson.
