I have been tutoring privately for over 25 years and my particular strengths are preparing students for examinations. I find pupils soon feel more confident about their own ability and realise that Mathematics is not as difficult as they once thought.
Examination technique and consolidation of past exam questions is a skill in itself and often learners need extra guidance on this which I enjoy providing.
As a am a full time teacher I am fully aware of the main syllabuses within the UK and what is expected of the pupils and I have access to all the necessary resources. I always provide students with all the materials that they need for the lesson and plenty of homework.

I am very hands on when teaching, I think energy and perseverance brings the best out of each student. I also put problems into context and make sure to be creative, but once an idea is understood, I think the key emphasis is to practice and repeat. Whilst I enjoyed some of the subjects at school, certain subjects and topics (including Maths!) didn't come naturally to me. I achieved 7A*s and 5As at GCSE and studied Maths, Biology & Chemistry at A-Level.

Tutoring Approach:
I have a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and my tutoring approach is a student-centred one. My experience covers tutoring, mentoring and coaching and I use a combination of the three in my work.

I am yet to come across a student who doesn't possess the potential to improve. More often than not, it is the large class sizes at school, or a teacher whose approach isn't the right fit, which explains why a student doesn't understand a particular subject, or particular topics within that subject.

Through the 1-to-1 work I do with students, not only have I witnessed some remarkable grade improvements but also some amazing transformations in confidence. I strongly feel that the work I do is more than merely improving grades for exams.

⭐ My philosophy is that if you are struggling with a particular subject or topic, it's not your fault and there's nothing wrong with you. It simply means you've not been taught in a way that makes sense to you (or you've not been given the time and attention to be taught properly - in a big class and with the pressures on teachers to deliver an extensive curriculum).

Tutoring Approach:

I am Thiru, a very dedicated and passionate tutor to get your child to their desired job as smoothly as possible. I have nearly 3 years of teaching experience in a very highly reputed Tuition Centre. I have taught A level and GCSE Science and Maths, and the students I have tutored for have all got Grades 8/9 and A/A* in their GCSE and A levels respectively. My tutoring technique is very unique, as I do not waste a lot of time, and will only give information of which is required to get the best possible grades.

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored for the past 3 years in a very reputed tuition centre in Hounslow, and have taught nearly 100's of students whom all have got Grades A/A* with my help and also their hardwork. I have also taught a range of exam boards as well from OCR, Edexcel, AQA (being the most popular ones!! :) ), but have also taught the niche ones like Eduquas as well. So I know all the specification inside out. I have been teaching and tutoring since 2008 and have extensive experience supporting students up to GCSE level in Maths and the sciences.
